Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauren Goetz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I learned how to create my creations with pure curiosity, a little magic, and sometimes luck! Tutorials taught me how to start making adorable things, like flower pendants, especially for UV resin jewelry!
Many creations seemed like failures and were trashed, but they were honest mistakes; too little of this and too much of that, mostly. I first started making UV resin jewelry with my first mold which made faceted rings. I still have this mold today!
Many lessons were learned from making rings from UV resin with certain pigments as some only work with regular epoxy resin, which I do not work with due to fumes.
Some obstacles I ran into while making jewelry was always something breaking apart, but I kept my word with my customers that my money back guaranteed policy for damaged items after purchase is something I’ll always hold to my word.
Money is always an obstacle for learning more about my craft, but over time, I was able to invest in some good gear to create and protect myself with.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi! I’m the one, the only, Lauren behind Art by Lauren. I curate art pieces and create UV resin jewelry for all bodies and ears.
Every earring I make is one of a kind due to working in small batches to reduce resin waste. I also have done keepsake jewelry to last a lifetime and be passed on for many generations.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is the pure joy I get when people compliment my jewelry and art. Seeing someone jaw open staring at my jewelry in bewilderment is the best feeling!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
For those who don’t know me, I work full time at a grocery store as a manager. The time I had to pivot around my business is when times were tough on me and my amorous partner Juno. She had recently had gotten surgery to make herself feel better and it put her out a job for 6 months. I had to strap on my big girl boots and cover bills, rent, any issue that arised really. She’s now off her feet and back into work again so that gives me more time to focus on my business.
