We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Monique Harris a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Monique , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken in business was deciding to build multiple companies while still navigating motherhood, financial pressure, and uncertainty. At the time, I didn’t have everything figured out. I didn’t have a perfect plan, a large team, or unlimited resources. What I did have was vision and the belief that I could create something bigger than my circumstances.
The backstory starts during a season in my life where I felt overwhelmed. I was balancing being a mom, trying to stabilize my finances, and figuring out how to build something that could provide long-term security. I knew I didn’t want to rely on just one income. I wanted multiple streams, ownership, and flexibility. That’s when I took the risk of launching my first experience-based business, which later grew into Radiance Floating Brunch. It was creative, different, and honestly, I didn’t know how people would respond. I invested time, energy, and money into something that had no guarantee.
At the same time, I was also building Boss Moves Connections a community designed to bring women together for growth, travel, and entrepreneurship. This was another risk because building a community requires trust. I had to show up consistently, create opportunities, and believe people would see the vision before it fully existed.
As things began to grow, I took an even bigger risk by creating RB Collective Group, an umbrella brand connecting all my businesses. I expanded into logistics with Radiance Logistics, launched financial services, and began working on my Airbnb business. This meant managing multiple moving parts, learning new industries, and stepping into leadership in ways I hadn’t before. It was scary because growth comes with responsibility. I had to make decisions that affected not just me, but the people connected to my businesses.
There were moments of doubt. Moments where I questioned if I was doing too much. Moments where I felt stretched thin between motherhood and entrepreneurship. But I kept going because I knew the risk wasn’t just about me it was about building legacy, creating opportunities, and proving that women can build multiple streams of income.
The outcome of that risk changed everything. What started as one idea turned into several businesses operating under one vision. I built platforms that create experiences, generate income, and empower others. I gained confidence, leadership skills, and clarity about my purpose. Most importantly, I showed myself that taking risks, even without certainty, can lead to growth beyond what you imagined.
Looking back, the risk wasn’t just starting businesses it was believing in myself when things weren’t guaranteed. And that decision shaped the foundation of RB Collective Group and everything I’m continuing to build today.

Monique , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who may not be familiar with me, my name is Monique Harris. I’m a mother, entrepreneur, and the founder of RB Collective Group, an umbrella brand that houses multiple businesses focused on empowerment, experiences, and financial growth. My journey into entrepreneurship didn’t start with a perfect plan it started with necessity. I was navigating motherhood, financial pressure, and life challenges, and I knew I needed to create opportunities not just for myself, but for my children and my future. What began as survival quickly turned into purpose.
I entered the business world by creating experiences that brought people together. That led to the creation of Radiance Floating Brunch, a luxury-style brunch experience focused on connection, creativity, and memorable moments. From there, I expanded into Boss Moves Connections, a community designed to help women grow through travel, networking, business education, and personal development. As my vision grew, I launched additional businesses under RB Collective Group, including Radiance Logistics, Radiance Travel Services, Radiance Financial Services, and my Airbnb business focused on passive income.
Across my brands, I provide a variety of services and experiences. These include curated brunch and event experiences, travel planning and group retreats, logistics and dispatch services, financial literacy and funding guidance, business mentorship, and Airbnb education. Each of these services is designed to help individuals create opportunities, build multiple streams of income, and step into ownership. My work blends creativity with strategy, allowing me to serve both lifestyle-focused clients and business-minded entrepreneurs.
The problems I aim to solve center around access and opportunity. Many people want to start businesses, travel, build credit, or create additional income, but they don’t know where to begin. Through my platforms, I provide guidance, community, and real pathways to growth. I also create spaces where women feel supported, inspired, and motivated to move forward. Whether it’s helping someone launch a business, experience travel for the first time, or create a new income stream, my goal is to remove barriers and create possibility.
What sets me apart is that I don’t focus on just one lane. I’ve built multiple businesses across different industries, and I openly share the process, the challenges, and the growth. My brand is built on authenticity. I’m not just teaching I’m actively building. I also combine lifestyle experiences with business education, which allows people to grow personally and financially at the same time. Everything I create is rooted in impact, not just income.
What I’m most proud of is building something from the ground up while being a mother. Balancing entrepreneurship and motherhood has required resilience, discipline, and faith. I’m proud that I’ve created platforms that empower other women, provide opportunities, and encourage people to believe in themselves. I’m also proud of the community that continues to grow through Boss Moves Connections and the vision behind RB Collective Group.
The main thing I want potential clients, followers, and supporters to know is that my brand is about more than business — it’s about legacy. I believe in ownership, multiple streams of income, and creating opportunities that can change lives. I want people to see that you don’t have to wait for perfect timing. You can start where you are, build as you grow, and create something meaningful. My work reflects resilience, creativity, and the belief that with vision and consistency, anything is possible.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots I’ve had to make in business came when I realized that relying on just one type of business model wasn’t sustainable for the long-term vision I had for my life. Early on, I focused heavily on experience based services, especially with Radiance Floating Brunch and curated events. These businesses were creative, exciting, and impactful, but they also required my physical presence, constant planning, and hands on execution. If I wasn’t actively working, the income slowed down.
At the same time, I was balancing motherhood and navigating personal challenges, and I started to feel the pressure of being the center of everything. I knew I wanted more flexibility, more structure, and more scalable income. That’s when I realized I needed to pivot not away from what I built, but toward expanding into additional streams that could grow beyond me.
That pivot led me to create RB Collective Group as an umbrella brand and expand into new industries. I launched Radiance Logistics to build long-term, scalable income. I developed my Airbnb business to create passive revenue. I also expanded Boss Moves Connections into more than just events, turning it into a community focused on business growth, travel, and empowerment. I added financial services to help people build credit and access funding. Instead of operating in one lane, I shifted into building an ecosystem.
This pivot wasn’t easy. It required learning new industries, restructuring my time, and stepping into leadership at a different level. There were moments where I questioned if I was doing too much or moving too fast. But I knew the pivot was necessary for the future I wanted to create. I didn’t want to be limited by one income stream or one type of business.
The outcome of that pivot changed the direction of everything. My businesses became more diversified, my vision became clearer, and I moved from simply running experiences to building a collective focused on ownership and generational wealth. It allowed me to create opportunities in multiple industries while still keeping the creative foundation that started it all.
Looking back, that pivot taught me that growth sometimes requires shifting your strategy without abandoning your vision. I didn’t stop what I built I expanded it. And that decision helped shape RB Collective Group into what it is today.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that I had to do everything by myself in order to succeed. Early in my journey, I thought being strong meant handling every detail, making every decision, and carrying every responsibility alone. I felt like if I didn’t do it myself, it wouldn’t be done right. That mindset came from survival I was balancing motherhood, financial pressure, and trying to build businesses at the same time. Trust didn’t come easy, and I felt like relying on others would slow me down or create more problems.
When I first started building my brands — from Boss Moves Connections to Radiance Floating Brunch I wore every hat. I was the planner, the marketer, the customer service, the coordinator, and the decision-maker. At first, it worked because I was in control of everything. But as the businesses started growing and I expanded into logistics, travel, financial services, and Airbnb, I realized that doing everything alone wasn’t strength it was actually limiting my growth.
The turning point came when I felt overwhelmed trying to manage multiple businesses while still being present as a mom. I was stretched thin, constantly working, and realizing that I couldn’t scale if I stayed in that mindset. I had to unlearn the idea that asking for help meant weakness. Instead, I started seeing collaboration as growth. I began bringing in support, delegating tasks, and allowing others to contribute to the vision.
Unlearning that lesson changed everything. It allowed me to think bigger, move faster, and focus on leadership instead of just survival. It also helped me build stronger systems and create opportunities for others to be involved. I realized that real success isn’t about doing everything alone it’s about building something that can grow beyond you.
Now, I approach business differently. I focus on structure, delegation, and building teams. I still stay hands-on with my vision, but I no longer carry everything alone. That shift helped me step fully into my role as the founder of RB Collective Group and grow my brands with more clarity and sustainability.
