We recently connected with Apollonia Crush and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Apollonia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
One of the biggest risks I took was stepping fully into my creative path and building my brand, Crushin Visuals, instead of staying comfortable in a stable routine.
I had security, but I felt stuck. I knew I had a bigger vision in videography and storytelling, so I chose to bet on myself, even without guaranteed income or opportunities. I invested in my craft, took on projects that didn’t always pay, and pushed through moments of doubt.
That risk changed everything. It forced me to grow, sharpen my skills, and create my own lane instead of waiting for one. Over time, opportunities started to open up, and I began building something that truly represents me.
It taught me that risk isn’t about being fearless it’s about moving forward anyway. Choosing growth over comfort became a turning point, and it’s still shaping everything I’m building today.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a videographer and creative director, and the founder of Crushin Visuals, a brand built around bringing ideas to life through powerful, intentional storytelling. My work focuses on music, film, and visual content that helps artists, creators, and brands stand out and feel like a real production, not just content.
I got into this field through my passion for film and storytelling. After earning my degree in film, I knew I didn’t just want to shoot videos, I wanted to create experiences and visuals that people actually remember. Over time, I started building my own brand, working with creatives, and developing a style that blends cinematic quality with real, authentic energy.
Through Crushin Visuals, I provide videography, creative direction, podcast production, and branded content. I work with artists, entrepreneurs, and creators who want to elevate their image and present themselves at a higher level. A lot of people have talent, but they don’t always have the visuals or structure to match and that’s where I come in.
What sets me apart is my vision and attention to detail. I don’t just shoot, I help shape the concept, the look, and the overall feel of a project. I treat every piece of content like it’s part of something bigger. My goal is always to make my clients look like they belong on major platforms.
What I’m most proud of is building something that reflects who I am creatively and having the courage to stand on that. I’m not just creating content. I’m building a brand and a platform that can open doors for other creatives as well.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the “run-and-gun” mindset I picked up early on.
When I first started shooting music videos, I learned everything the street way fast, raw, and instinct-driven. It was all about getting the shot, making it look good, and figuring things out on the spot. That taught me creativity and hustle, but it also lacked structure.
Once I went to school for film, I was introduced to a completely different side of the craft planning, shot lists, storyboarding, directing with intention, and the paperwork that comes with real productions. At first, I resisted it because it felt like it slowed down the creative process.
But over time, I realized that structure doesn’t limit creativity it elevates it.
Unlearning that “just pick up the camera and go” mindset allowed me to become more intentional with my work. Now, I’m able to combine both worlds the raw creativity I started with and the professional discipline I was taught.
That balance is what really shaped me into the creative director I am today.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been focusing on quality work and real relationships. Every project is a chance to not just deliver, but to elevate someone’s vision and that leads to repeat clients and strong word of mouth.
I’ve also been intentional with my brand presence through Crushin Visuals, making sure my work speaks clearly for itself and attracts the right audience.
For me, it’s about consistency, professionalism, and creating visuals that make people want to come back.
