We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Liz Rodgers a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Liz , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I knew when I was probably in the second grade. Our class took a field trip to Springer Opera House. I’m naturally more reserved, but there was such explorative freedom in being a part of a structured theater scene. From that point I knew I wanted more of that freedom and I knew it would come from the arts in some capacity.

Liz , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got involved in entertainment through classes, performances and showcases growing up then I attended Savannah College of Art & Design and got to see how the industry works.
As an actor, writer and director I’m always looking to create as well as collaborate with anyone that wants to build.
I’m most proud of everything I create. The most current project coming up will be this something I used to emcee back at SCAD. Bring it back!

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Our careers are not linear as artists. You can go to school or not. Have connections or be a talented “new face”. It’s about showing up and luck of the draw. Leaving in God’s hands really.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I think the most rewarding part of creating something is when you see it coming together. The end product is exciting, but it so amazing when you just get lost in the process of it all.
