We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Adrienne DeMedici a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Adrienne, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?
My growth was very organic. I started locally, and as demand increased in other states, I followed it. Instead of overextending, I expanded step by step, bringing on talented artists in each state as the need presented itself. Over time, that created a strong, nationwide network. I think scaling successfully comes down to patience, consistency, and really paying attention to what your business is asking for.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I actually started on the celebrity side of the industry, working on video shoots and photoshoots, which gave me a strong foundation in high pressure, detail oriented environments. Over time, I naturally transitioned into bridal, and that shift really happened by default as demand grew and I saw an opportunity to build something more expansive and service driven. From there, I was able to scale intentionally, creating a team and extending our reach to serve clients nationwide.
Creativity has always been at the core of who I am, I grew up drawing and painting, and even though I chose not to pursue art school, I still followed that passion in a different form through hair and makeup. That artistic background is what sets the tone for everything I do. It’s not just about beauty services, it’s about creating an experience, bringing a vision to life, and making people feel like the best version of themselves.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I was able to make a name for myself early on being that I was one of a few artists who offered body painting . Naturally I was able to build some strong relationships in the industry , working on many high visibility projects, and that helped me to build a nationwide network later on when deciding to transition over to bridal hair and makeup.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One experience that really shaped my resilience happened early in my life, I was kicked out at a young age and had to figure out how to stand on my own. Looking back, I like to think it set the foundation for everything I’ve built since. I always knew I wanted to work for myself, and that drive eventually led me to manifest my own business. Facing challenges early on taught me to trust myself, keep pushing forward, and turn obstacles into opportunities.
