We recently connected with Lauren Diamond and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
When I was little, I listened a lot of performers and I really value the art of putting a show together, the magic and all the work behind it. It intrigued me and still does to this day. I listened to a lot of artists and I wanted to know what made them tick and that itch for performing and pursuing my craft has only deepened over time because there’s always room to grow.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Lauren Diamond. I started out in the arts wanting to be an actor and I had a lisp. My agent said that’d be challenging for me to secure roles with it unless I worked on it. Long and the short of it, I got a guitar shortly after and decided to push my crafts in a different direction. At 20 I sang in my first Jazz lounge in NYC and my voice felt heard. I really worked on my songwriting throughout college and was recording as well. I started playing out live all over NYC and also in Nashville, I moved to Austin and perform all over the area, record music with a handful of producers and recording engineers and I’m always looking for new ways to elevate my sound or put things out there musically. I love what I do and I can’t imagine living it any other way. You can find me on any digital platform by searching: Lauren Diamond as well as my website: www.laurenbdiamondmusic.com

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I think the most rewarding part of being an artist is having a platform to say exactly how you feel and have people connect to it, respond to it, have their own applied meaning to it and communicate freely (possibly leaving a legacy) on a deeper level in an artistic way.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of my favorites is when I didn’t play guitar yet. I was around 18 years old and I went to a place in NYC called Cafe Wah. When it was my turn to sing, they asked me what instrumentation I’d be using and what song I’d be performing. I told them, “I’m making it up freestyle and I’m playing acapella.” I didn’t allow anything to stop me when I was still growing and learning my craft on instrumentation and writing. This gave me confidence to become unleashed in my craft. I believe in constantly challenging myself.
