We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Zephyrin Victor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Zephyrin below.
Zephyrin, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
Great Question! My parents motivated me to be a leader and not a follower. When I was in elementary school and my music teacher gave me a lead role for the first time in a play, my parents pushed me to take the role. I studied hard for it. When I did that and the night came of the show they showed up and cheered me on and that is how I began to accept anything in entertainment that was given to me. They gave me the tools to equip myself for any challenge on my way.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a totally blind comedian, actor, motivational speaker, athlete, entrepreneur, gamer and father who doesn’t accept being told that I can’t do something. My comedy career began when my cousin told me about a comedy 101 class being offered at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, FL. I provide stand-up comedy and hosting to my clients in the South Florida area. I believe that being disabled definitely is the highlight of my life and career. I proud to be on stage with A-list celebrities as well as movies and commercials.. Most people with disabilities don’t get these opportunities even if they are talented. I aim to show the world that being disabled doesn’t make me limited in talent and the ability to entertain.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson that I had to unlearn is that life is fair because it is not. I’ve experienced discrimination in this industry from some of the largest venues and producers because of my disability. There are some opportunities that I could not take advantage of because they just didn’t feel I could make their company look good. Life definitely isn’t fair.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is having people know my name before I even speak, wearing my merchandise or even following me on social media.
