We recently connected with Mikkita Moore and have shared our conversation below.
Mikkita , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
For me, the journey has never been just about having ideas… it’s about building the structure to bring those ideas to life. Over the years I’ve launched businesses, written books, spoken on stages around the country, and created platforms that center transparency, growth, and community impact.
Recently, I rebranded and consolidated my work under Mikkita L. Moore Holdings, which serves as the umbrella for my consulting, speaking, media platforms, and creative collaborations. That shift allowed me to align everything I do with more intention and clarity.
A major part of that work is business consulting and brand development, where I help entrepreneurs, creatives, and organizations build the structure behind their vision—from formation and strategy to marketing and operational alignment. It’s about helping people not just dream big, but execute properly.
That same approach extends into talent management and strategic partnerships. Currently, I serve as manager and business development consultant for DJ EL The Conductor, where I help oversee brand positioning, booking opportunities, partnerships, and expansion into new markets and platforms.
Execution, for me, always starts with purpose but is sustained through systems, strategy, and collaboration. Whether it’s launching initiatives like The Earned Seat at the Table, consulting with entrepreneurs, or building opportunities for the people I represent, the goal is always the same… turn vision into something tangible that creates real impact.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My journey into entrepreneurship and speaking really grew out of my own life experiences. I became a mother at a young age and had to learn very early how to navigate challenges, rebuild, and create opportunities where they didn’t always exist. Over time, that journey led me to writing books, traveling as a motivational speaker, and eventually stepping into entrepreneurship with a deeper purpose, to help people turn their experiences into impact.
Today I operate under Mikkita L. Moore Holdings, which serves as the umbrella for my consulting work, speaking engagements, media platforms, and strategic partnerships. Through the company, I work with entrepreneurs, creatives, and organizations that have the vision but need help building the structure, strategy, and clarity to bring their ideas to life. My consulting focuses on business formation, brand positioning, marketing coordination, and helping people create systems that allow their work to grow sustainably.
Another part of my work includes talent management and brand development, where I help expand opportunities for the individuals and brands I work with. Currently, I manage and consult for DJ EL The Conductor, supporting the development of his brand, booking strategy, and partnerships as we expand into new markets and experiences.
Community impact is also a major part of my life’s work. My daughter founded the KiYha Moore Foundation, which focuses on youth empowerment and addressing issues like bullying, drugs, and violence. Supporting that mission and helping guide its growth is something I’m incredibly proud of because it reflects the type of legacy I want to build, not just businesses, but meaningful change in our communities.
What sets my work apart is transparency and real-world experience. I’m not speaking from theory—I’m speaking from a life that required resilience, reinvention, and growth. Whether I’m consulting with a business owner, speaking on a stage, or developing new platforms like The Earned Seat at the Table, my goal is always the same: to create spaces where people can learn, grow, and build with intention.
What I’m most proud of is the ability to evolve while staying aligned with my purpose. Everything I build, through Mikkita L. Moore Holdings, my speaking, or the organizations I support, is rooted in helping people recognize their value, build something meaningful, and understand that their story can be the foundation for something powerful.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Resilience has been a constant theme in my life. One of the earliest examples of that was becoming a mother at just 14 years old. At an age when most teenagers are still trying to figure out who they are, I had to grow up very quickly and learn how to navigate responsibility, judgment, and uncertainty all at the same time. There were moments where the road felt incredibly heavy, but those experiences forced me to develop a level of strength and determination that continues to guide me today.
Instead of allowing my circumstances to define my limitations, I chose to use them as fuel. Over time, that decision led me to writing books about my life experiences, speaking across different cities, and creating platforms that encourage transparency, healing, and growth.
Another moment that really tested my resilience came during a recent season of transition where I made the decision to step back, reassess, and completely realign my work. Rather than continuing to operate multiple things separately, I restructured everything under Mikkita L. Moore Holdings. That rebrand required courage because it meant evolving publicly and stepping into a new level of leadership and responsibility.
Resilience isn’t just about surviving hard moments—it’s about using those moments to build something meaningful. Today that resilience shows up in the consulting work I do with entrepreneurs, the partnerships I help develop, including managing DJ EL The Conductor, and the community impact work connected to the KiYha Moore Foundation, founded by my daughter.
Looking back, every challenge helped prepare me for the work I’m doing now. My resilience is rooted in the belief that your story—no matter how difficult it may be—can become the foundation for purpose, leadership, and impact.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that I had to carry everything by myself.
For a long time, survival taught me that strength meant handling things alone. Becoming a mother at a young age, navigating life’s challenges, and building my career from the ground up conditioned me to believe that if something needed to be done, I had to do it myself. That mindset helped me survive many seasons of my life, but as my work and responsibilities grew, I realized it was no longer sustainable.
There came a point where I was managing multiple projects, building platforms, supporting community initiatives, and trying to grow businesses at the same time. I was operating in constant motion, but I had to ask myself whether I was truly building something scalable or simply carrying too much on my own.
Unlearning that mindset required me to shift from doing everything myself to building structure, partnerships, and alignment. That shift is part of what led me to bring everything I do under Mikkita L. Moore Holdings, creating a clear umbrella for my consulting work, speaking, creative platforms, and strategic collaborations.
It also allowed me to step more fully into leadership and collaboration—whether that’s working with entrepreneurs through consulting, managing and developing opportunities for DJ EL The Conductor, or supporting the work of the KiYha Moore Foundation.
The lesson for me was realizing that real strength isn’t about carrying everything alone. It’s about building systems, trusting the right people, and creating space for others to contribute to the vision. Once I unlearned the idea that I had to do it all myself, my work became more focused, more impactful, and far more sustainable.
