We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Robert Overman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Robert below.
Robert, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?
The first time I realized my passion could create opportunities beyond the stage was a turning point for me.
I had already been contracted as a professional dancer with the San Antonio Spurs, so performing at a high level wasn’t new. But in my mind, that was the only lane where dance and income connected—inside a professional organization, on a structured team. I never imagined there were opportunities outside of that world.
Then I was contracted by Breakthrough Entertainment to perform breakdancing at a 80s-themed corporate event. It caught me off guard. I remember thinking, people are really paying for this? Something I had always done out of pure love for the culture suddenly had a place in a completely different environment.
When the music dropped and I hit the floor, it felt like any other time dancing—except this time it came with a realization.
That night showed me that my passion didn’t have to stay inside a professional arena. It could travel. It could create opportunities in places I never expected.
That first check wasn’t just payment.
It was proof that what you love can open doors far beyond where you first learned to perform.

Robert, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is RobbyTrigger, and at the core of everything I do is creativity, movement, and storytelling. I originally built my name through dance—specifically breaking—which taught me discipline, expression, and how to turn passion into purpose. Dance was the first language I used to communicate with the world. For a long time people around me didn’t believe it could lead to anything meaningful, but I kept pushing forward, trusting that creativity would open doors if I stayed committed to the craft.
Over time, that creative mindset expanded into other industries. What started as dance performances led to opportunities in modeling and acting, where I discovered new ways to express character, emotion, and visual storytelling. Being in front of the camera eventually inspired me to learn what was happening behind it as well, which is when I began developing skills in photography and videography. I wanted to control the full creative process—from the concept to the final visual—so I studied lighting, composition, editing, and storytelling through the lens.
Today my work blends multiple disciplines. Through the RobbyTrigger brand I create visual content, collaborate on creative projects, model for campaigns, act in productions, and produce photography and video work that helps individuals and brands bring their ideas to life. I’m also exploring innovation through 3D printing, which allows me to take creativity from a digital concept into a real, physical object. That intersection of art, technology, and storytelling is something that really excites me because it expands what’s possible creatively.
What sets me apart is that I don’t see creativity as being limited to one lane. My background in dance trained me to adapt, improvise, and stay fearless when trying new ideas. Whether it’s movement, visual art, or technology, I approach everything with the same mindset: create something authentic that inspires people to think bigger about their own potential.
One of the things I’m most proud of is building the RobbyTrigger identity from the ground up despite the doubt I faced early on. Many people didn’t see a future in dance or creative work, but those same experiences pushed me to develop a stronger vision and expand into multiple creative industries.
What I want potential clients, followers, and supporters to know is that RobbyTrigger represents more than just a name—it represents creativity without limits. My goal is to inspire people to chase their ideas, collaborate across different art forms, and realize that passion can evolve into something much bigger than what you first imagined.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
For much of my journey, people around me didn’t believe dance would lead to anything meaningful. Family questioned it, friends saw it as just a hobby, and many assumed it was something I would eventually grow out of. But for me, dance was never just movement—it was purpose.
Instead of letting that doubt stop me, I used it as fuel. I kept showing up and kept growing, not only as a dancer but by teaching myself new skills along the way—modeling, acting, photography, and even 3D printing. Every new skill became another way to expand my creativity and build something bigger than what people thought was possible.
The journey taught me that resilience isn’t about everyone believing in you. It’s about believing in your vision long enough to turn doubt into proof.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission with RobbyTrigger is to show people that creativity—especially dance—can be more than a hobby; it can be a path to purpose, confidence, and impact. I want to inspire others to believe in their vision even when no one else does. Through my work, performances, and content, I aim to push culture forward while proving that passion, discipline, and authenticity can turn an idea into a movement. 🔥
