We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anthony Ellis-Gill. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anthony below.
Anthony, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
So i started extreme calisthenics training in 2015, and started competiting in local competitions. Not only was this challenging for my body, but it provided a challenge for my mind as well, the anticipation, preparation, and anxiety to perform on a platform. From this competition it sparked me to compete more, and then eventually create and host my own events for future athletes to experience.

Anthony, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Anthony, but i often go by the name Snoopy, a nickname i have had since i was in High School. I have always been into sports, mainly basketball, I played High School and a bit of College Basketball. As I got older, i stumbled across the Calisthenics culture, originally used it to strengthen me for basketball, but found that it took over as new obsession. Competitive Calisthenics has provided me with the same adreneline rush that sport has given me, with amazing physical and mental results. It is something no matter your age you can benefit from, a fun new way to approach fitness and mental health!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
A particular goal that is driving me on my creative journey is trying to build this to an Olympic level sport. I believe Calisthenics has the potential, as athletes across the world share a common love and not to mention the physical feats i have witnessed from calisthenics compare to no other form of fitness. The age range also plays a huge role, I have met some athletes in their 60s and 70s who still perform at a high level with no signs of slowin down.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect to me is the motivation and inspiration that my passion provides. I was always the skinny kid in school, never had an interest in fitness but was always a big fan of SPORT. When i found a mix of the two, it changed my life. Even as a father of 2 and having a full career, i still find the time to train and teach because of the love I have for it. I have met people from all walks of life who relate, and it helps them get through their ups and downs of life. Fitness not only provides physical benefits, but also has therapuetic benefits as well. Keeps your mind sharp and influences your eating habits and an overall healthy lifestyle.
