We recently connected with A T R I E L and have shared our conversation below.
A T R I E L, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?
I definitely know for a fact that I have been misunderstood my whole life and some of that comes out in my music. I continue no matter what to keep making the music that I like and keep moving forward with my life. Having my amazing daughter as a main focus and inspiration now has made it easier to stay afloat.

A T R I E L, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Atriel. I am a singer and songwriter from Georgia. I have many projects that I have released over the years. As of recently I have been working on new music and I don’t know when I plan on releasing anything but my last EP titled Bad Guy (Coldblooded Edition) is out there for streaming. My number one song on Spotify titled Cause I Am came from that EP so I definitely recommend listening. I am currently in what I call my Catch 22 Era where I perform almost every Thursday at Hootenanny’s At The Yard. I love the people there and it has been a very welcoming environment and wholesome place to perform. Ayron Moleen and her husband from the band Blossomin’ Bone have been very welcoming and they are very inspiring. I also have been featured on my friend and collaborator’s upcoming deluxe album titled Premiering Again that will be available to listen to March 28th. I am just seeing where the wind takes me but also looking for New Horizons.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I think the goal for me is to just be happy with what I am doing. I really love making music and writing, and I think if you do what you love you don’t have to work a day in your life, and that is what I want to get to.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me of being an artist is when people acknowledge you and your work and can appreciate it in their own way. Not just cheering after a performance, or telling you that you did a good job, but when the music you are making impacts them. When they feel connected to your words, you voice, your story, and your messages. That is the most rewarding for me when I can make an impact or change in someone’s life.
