Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jake Platt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jake , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
For me, the journey from idea to execution happened very organically over time. I didn’t start with the intention of building a specific method or online business. It really began with my work in martial arts. I owned a martial arts studio and through that I started helping students and parents with their fitness, strength, and overall health.
As the demand grew, that led me to open multiple gym locations. Over the years I worked with thousands of people, and through that experience I started noticing patterns—especially with adults in their 40s and 50s. Many of them were trying to lose weight, but the traditional approaches they were using were causing them to lose muscle, slow their metabolism, and feel frustrated.
That’s really where the idea for my approach began. Through more than 35 years of coaching, I refined a system focused on helping people lose weight while maintaining muscle, which is critical for long-term health and longevity. That eventually became what I now call the Morph Method.
The next step was taking what I had been doing in person for decades and translating it into something that could reach more people. I organized the framework, began sharing the concepts online, and eventually wrote my book, Morph Method: The Pathway to Wellness.
Today my coaching has evolved into an online platform where I help Gen X clients transform their health, but the foundation is still the same as when I started—real experience working with real people over decades. The business grew step by step from martial arts, to gyms, to coaching, and now to reaching people globally online.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My journey into the health and wellness industry began through martial arts. I started as a martial arts instructor and eventually became a studio owner, where I helped students develop discipline, strength, and confidence. As I worked with students and their families, many adults began asking for help with their own fitness and health goals. That demand naturally led me to expand into opening multiple gym locations, where I spent decades coaching people on strength, conditioning, and overall wellness and CrossFit.
Over more than 35 years of coaching, I had the opportunity to work with thousands of individuals. Through that experience, I began noticing a common challenge, especially among adults in their 40s and 50s +. Many traditional weight loss were setting people up for failure. This creates long-term problems and lacks critical tools for maintaining metabolism, strength, and vitality as we age.
Through years of coaching and observation, I developed a more sustainable approach focused on preserving muscle while improving overall health. That philosophy eventually became the foundation of what I call the Morph Method, which I later documented in my book Morph Method: Pathway to Holistic Wellness.
MORPH is actually an acronym that represents the core philosophy behind the method: Mindful Organized Rituals Performed Honestly. The idea is that lasting health transformation doesn’t come from quick fixes, but from consistent daily habits practiced with intention and honesty. When people build structured routines around fitness, nutrition, and mindset, they can create sustainable change that supports long-term vitality.
Today my work has evolved from physical gyms into an online coaching platform where I help clients—especially Gen X adults—lose weight while maintaining muscle and improving overall health. My programs combine decades of hands-on coaching experience with practical systems people can apply in their everyday lives. I’m 58 and right there with them.
What sets my work apart is that it comes from real-world experience. Everything I teach has been tested over decades of working directly with people and helping them navigate the challenges of maintaining health as they get older.
What I’m most proud of is helping people regain control of their health and confidence. Many of my clients come to me after trying countless programs that didn’t work long term. When they discover they can lose fat, maintain strength, and build sustainable habits, it becomes a transformation that impacts not just their physical health but their overall quality of life.
At the core of my mission is helping people build strength, protect their health, and create a lifestyle that supports longevity and vitality.
Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my career happened when COVID hit. Prior to that, most of my work was done in person through my gyms and coaching clients face-to-face. Like many people in the fitness industry, the shutdowns forced me to rethink how I could continue helping people when physical locations were suddenly no longer an option.
Instead of waiting for things to return to normal, I decided to pivot and move my coaching online. That meant quickly learning new platforms, adapting my programs for virtual delivery, and finding ways to maintain the same level of connection and accountability with clients even though we weren’t in the same physical space.
In many ways, it was a challenge, but it also became a huge opportunity. Moving online allowed me to reach far more people than I ever could with just local gym locations. Clients who previously wouldn’t have had access to my coaching were suddenly able to work with me from anywhere.
That transition also helped me further refine the Morph Method, focusing on practical systems people could implement in their daily lives regardless of where they lived or what equipment they had access to. The philosophy behind MORPH—Mindful Organized Rituals Performed Honestly—became even more relevant during that time because people needed structure and consistency while navigating so much uncertainty.
Looking back, what started as a forced pivot during a global crisis ultimately expanded my reach and impact. Today my work continues online, helping people transform their health through sustainable habits, strength training, and lifestyle changes that support long-term wellness.
How did you build your audience on social media?
My social media audience really began growing when I got on TikTok early. At the time, the platform was still developing and there was a huge opportunity for creators who were willing to consistently show up and share value. I committed to posting daily—sometimes multiple times a day—and focused on sharing fitness tips, health insights, and motivational content based on my decades of coaching experience.
Because I was consistent and authentic with my content, it started to gain traction. Over time that audience grew to more than 350,000 followers on TikTok. That platform really became the foundation of my online presence and helped introduce my work to a much broader audience.
I’ve now been a content creator for over eight years, and what I’ve learned is that consistency and authenticity matter more than perfection. People connect with real experiences, practical advice, and someone who genuinely wants to help them improve their lives.
My advice for someone just starting out is to focus on providing value and showing up consistently. Don’t worry about having everything perfect. Share your knowledge, your experiences, and the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Over time, that consistency builds trust with your audience, and trust is really the foundation of any strong online community.
For me, social media has simply become an extension of the work I’ve been doing for decades—helping people improve their health, strength, and overall well-being.
