We asked some very talented folks to tell us about the most innovative thing they’ve done in their career.

I love getting creative and thinking of ideas that can help others to feel empowered or find ways to give back to the community. A few years ago I started a photo series initiative called “Tell Your Story” The purpose of this photo series was to help empower others through their life experiences – whether it was a weight loss journey, overcoming an abusive relationship, or starting a business. Everyone has a story to tell, and it’s important for us to understand that we are not alone in our journeys. Read more>>

Hello my name is Jasmine Parker and I’m a Registered Art Therapist and Mental Health Counselor, as well as the owner of Listen to Your Art Therapy and Empowerment Services. At LTYART we strive to break down barriers to those in need of services receiving beneficial therapeutic services. One way that we decided to do this was making our services mobile; we bring the services to you. In 2020, we purchased a travel trailer and remodeled the trailer to convert it into a mobile art studio. The studio is a fully functional art studio with art, supplies, electricity and running water, best of all its cozy and comfortable. Our clients enjoy the luxury of their own art studio while receiving their Art Therapy services and best of all they do not have to leave the comforts of their front yards. Read more>>

Diversifying the business to include vendor partnerships is key. At Tax Genius, we have persevered the up’s and down’s of the pandemic and have re-shaped our business goals to adapt to our client’s most pressing tax concerns. With Federal policy changes and audits on the rise, we have equipped our staff to address the post-pandemic tax environment at optimal levels. Building partnerships with the payroll, government, and legal communities have enabled us to stay nimble and educated on our client’s most valuable asset which in most cases is time, education, and financial management. Photography and the art of photography has come a long way. The innovation of capturing the moment of time has such a new meaning than 30 years ago. What’s the most innovative thing I have done in this career, is making sure my customers come first and making sure my photos will bring them happiness for years to come. This might not sound innovative, but in a time when everyone is rushing to get things done and moving onto the next, I make sure that a client who is entrusting me with their future memories are being paid attention to and receiving exactly what they want and delivering my quality of work which will always stand behind my name. I am very concerned about the environment and the future generations. I have always had the idea to help in some way with my work, so I started to look for used materials that I could transform into art. My main purpose is to assist in the process of creating a sustainable environment, by giving used or discarded elements new life and value. Wherever I am or any time that I have something in my hands, any simple material (no matter what it is), I try to repurpose it and transform it into something new, usable, and beautiful. I am very proud of contributing to maintaining the environment by creating abstract paintings with materials that transform and take on an identity of its own. For example, recycled material that comes from nature brings out a unique texture in my art and gives each work life and movement. Read more>>

I’d say the most innovative thing I’ve done in my career is monetize my skillset and my image, individually and jointly. That in itself isn’t revolutionary or anything but our society has the population wired to pick one career or one lane and stay there, particularly in corporate America. That’s a box designed to support a structure that stifles personal growth and expression so I’ve never allowed myself to be comfortable conforming to that standard. Operating in the mindset that all of us are capable of being a variety of things has been an interesting journey so far personally and definitely rewarding in many ways. Read more>>
