We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kennedy Lindberg. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kennedy below.
Kennedy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The new series I’m starting this year is based off of old photos I discovered wen caretaking for my grandmother Lynn Lindberg in her later stages of dementia. I did this in Alabama first in her house, then she moved in with my family. In the process, I was able to find photos of people in my family going back to the 1800s. As a lover of history this was especially interesting to me and led me to this series highlighting the photos I find visually interesting and tell a story based here in the south.

Kennedy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a local artist here in Savannah, GA and a graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I majored in Production/ Costume Design through the School of Film and Television. My love of history, fashion, and the arts jumpstarted my education and led me to move here to this historic town after college just last year. I’m now starting to make my own art series based on my background of living in the South and my love of history, film, and more. I hope to reach people in the community with shared interests and to get involved in local shows and galleries to share it with everyone.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I believe, in a perfect society that chooses to support creatives, would not exist alongside or in the same world as, Ai. It is something I do not believe is helpful, worth using to cut costs, or innovative whatsoever. In fact, I think it is only lazy and dangerous. This growth of artificially created “art” will not thrive, because even if a number of human artists are “replaced”, the public will always crave, a very necessary, feeling of human connection and will favor it. There is no soul in AI -created or assisted art.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Right now, I want to create art with the purpose of connection, relatability, and my own enjoyment. I hope this new series allows a way for me to introduce myself and voice as an artist here in Savannah and I can continue to do so beyond it, as I of course, already have more planned beyond this one.
