Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kristen Banner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kristen, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I’ve been in real estate in one shape or another my entire adult career. I got my license in 2017 and it’s been my main source of income since then. I got my Brokers license in 2023, started Rad House Realty in 2024. 2025 was my hardest year to date. Between running my own brokerage, to being a single mom, making sure I’m consistent with my loved ones and just life in general.. I seemed to have lost my purpose. I felt uneasy in the house that I bought in 2022. I didn’t know if I wanted to even stay in this career, or if I was just going through a weird phase of some type of depression? After talking to multiple people who are way smarter than me, I decided that owning the business was a root to my bad mental health. I walked into that blind with no plan and it did not do me justice. It became bragging rights and a huge headache. Did I want to just be a small fry again? Would that make all my problems go away? I woke up in December of 2025 and decided that I was tired of looming in this pit so I moved my license from my own brand to REAL Broker where I had support and guidance and systems. Did I take steps backwards or is this pivot carved just for me…. either way, what I do know is the risk was worth it. I gave it my best shot and I can always come back to it stronger with the knowledge I gained through the experience.

Kristen, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
This year I have coined myself as your Dopamine Dressed Realtor in Dallas. I took my two favorite things, fashion and real estate and made a brand out of it. I sell houses all over DFW in the coolest, authentic clothing and I also started a side passion project where I offer closet edits, closet organization, personal styling, personal shopping and more that I am working on but haven’t released yet! This is definitely what draws my clients to me. I am not your average black and white realtor with the arms crossed pose and I am so proud of that. As every year goes by, I learn more and more about this life and who I am supposed to be. The trend is that we don’t care who’s watching and the weirder, the better.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
I call my side hustle the fashion biz that I mentioned before. I started that by posting my outfits as inspiration for others on IG, then that turned into helping others with curating outfits. Then, I realized there is a market for this and I really enjoy helping people + making them feel SO CONFIDENT in themselves is a gift of mine. Mixing the two loves feels like second nature and has become my entire personality.
The personal styling is not my main gig right now but I am actively marketing myself for it to be that one day. I have about 2 clients a month for a closet rehab &. my goal is 15 by the end of 2026.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Social media is the strongest and first one. I do have a strong love for it and all the free tools it comes with. I think you can really showcase who you are and where you are going if you can be creative and consistent.
Second would be networking. I hate this one with a passion when I see the word on paper BUT I am personally really good at talking to strangers. I have been told I should have been a journalist.
It all comes down to keeping your peace and focusing on what truly makes you happy. There is balance in all things effort but the saying stands true, “if you do what you love, you never work a day in your life.”
