We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lexi Chicalas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lexi below.
Alright, Lexi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Building a business is not for the faint of heart. It’s messy, humbling, and at times overwhelming. But despite how hard it can be, I am genuinely happier as a business owner than I ever was as an employee.
When I first launched Nude Digital, I worked tirelessly to land my first two clients. I was so excited. proud, even , that I didn’t realize I was overworking and underselling myself. I poured everything into that client relationship, giving more than what was agreed upon simply because that’s who I am at heart. I care deeply. I always want to overdeliver.
When that relationship ended, I took it hard. Really hard. I questioned everything. Was this what I was meant to do? Was building a business always going to feel this draining? Was I cut out for this? I even considered going back to work for someone else. It would’ve been simpler. Less chaotic. Less unpredictable. But I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t walk away from the dream I had been working toward for so long.
So instead, I took a step back. I let the experience teach me. I rebuilt my foundation stronger; with better boundaries, clearer standards, and a deeper understanding of my value.
There have been moments when I’ve wanted to give up. Moments where I wondered if I wasn’t built for this. But I truly believe passion is placed in our hearts for a reason. Every long creative night, every internship that showed me what I didn’t want, every connection I’ve made, it has all led me here.
I’m not just building this business for myself. I’m building it for the like-minded, passionate women who want a seat at the table. For the little girls who are told they can’t. For my younger self who dreamed of being her own boss. And for my children, so they grow up knowing they can build something of their own, too.
This journey isn’t easy. But it’s mine. And I wouldn’t trade it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Alexis, but I go by Lexi, and I’m a marketing specialist and founder driven by one core belief: marketing should feel human, intentional, and aligned.
I built my business from the ground up, learning the industry hands-on through content creation, social media management, branding, and creative direction. My journey wasn’t overnight, it was built through long creative nights, internships that showed me what I didn’t want, real client work, and lessons that shaped how I serve today. Every experience refined my approach and strengthened my commitment to building something meaningful.
I specialize in creative direction, social media marketing, content creation, and digital presence development. I work closely with female founders and fashion and lifestyle brands to help them move from feeling overwhelmed or inconsistent online to showing up with clarity, confidence, and cohesion. I help brands communicate their value in a way that feels elevated, authentic, and sustainable, not trend-chasing or forced.
What sets me apart is that I understand both the creative and emotional side of entrepreneurship. Early in my business, I overworked and undervalued myself, learning hard lessons about boundaries and sustainability. Those experiences didn’t discourage me, they deepened my perspective. Now, I build strategies that not only grow brands but protect the people behind them.
I’m most proud of the resilience it took to keep going. There were moments I questioned the path, but I truly believe passion is placed in our hearts for a reason. I’m building this business not just for myself, but for women who want to take up space confidently, for the younger version of me who dreamed of being her own boss, and for the next generation watching what’s possible.
More than anything, I want people to know that I care deeply – about your vision, your voice, and your growth. Marketing isn’t just content. It’s clarity, confidence, and connection. And when done with intention, it changes everything.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Networking has truly been the most effective strategy for growing my clientele. I’ve met so many incredible women entrepreneurs in Kansas City simply by attending networking events and connecting through mutual friends. There’s something powerful about meeting in person, being able to feel someone’s energy, understand their vision, and build real rapport beyond just a screen.
For me, authenticity has been everything. When potential clients can see who I am, how I think, and how I genuinely care about their work, it creates a natural sense of trust. And it works both ways, I get to feel whether we’re aligned, too.
That alignment is what has helped me attract the right clients. Not just any clients, but women and founders who share similar values, ambition, and vision. Networking hasn’t just grown my business, it’s built real relationships that make the work even more meaningful.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being able to bring my clients’ visions to life using my own creative abilities. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about taking an idea that exists in someone’s mind and turning it into something tangible, something you can see, feel, and experience.
I love blending strategy with creativity, not just making something beautiful, but making it meaningful and aligned with who they are. Watching a client feel confident and excited about how they’re showing up after we’ve worked together is what makes it all worth it.
