Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alonna Gibson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Alonna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I have always dreamed of being in the creative field, but it started out as wanting to be an actress. I was convinced that acting was the path way for me, I did plays and one acts anything i could get experience from and absolutely fell in love with the stage! Then I found a passion for singing and when i realized i could tie both acting and singing together with musicals it was a wrap. That’s all I wanted to do for a career. Then modeling fell into my lap during COVID and as much as i loved acting (and still do) I found a new love for the modeling world. I was captured by the fashion, the posing, the glamor, the makeup and hair, and most importantly the people. I was blessed to meet a wonderful group of photographers business owners and models that showed me the ropes of getting started in modeling and have been able to build from there!

Alonna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Thanks to COVID I started seriously booking jobs in the modeling world, I started gaining a lot of experience and when I built up enough of a portfolio i was able to set a rate and have that ready when it was needed. I was able to work with agencies and small businesses just seeing what worked for me! I am most proud of the attitude i’ve been able to maintain through this journey, it can be extremely difficult and sometimes it will feel like I am making no progress at all and it’ll feel like it’s been months since I last got creative, and some days it’s like I am booked and busy for weeks on end. I have never allowed myself to believe in anything other than my success and my future and it isn’t easy keeping that positive energy inside! I also just am proud and grateful for the friends and support i’ve gained along the way, I’ve been extremely grateful that the environment at shoots i’m apart of is always extremely welcoming and friendly. I always want to be involved with a business or person that exudes happiness and positivity and passion!

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Use local models actors actresses and creatives in general! Follow local creatives on socials! Dive in and give back to your creative community at home! Make your community your personal celebrity’s and leave hollywood to hollywood!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal is always to be able to make a comfortable living doing what I love to do, not looking for extreme fame! I just wish to create and meet and work with people who want the same!
