Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marianna Lima. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Marianna , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Taking risks has always been an essential part of who I am. I believe it started early in my life — this inner instinct to choose growth over comfort, even when the outcome was uncertain.
The first major risk I took was when I was 18. At the time, I was studying dress design at an art university. It was a practical and respectable path, but it wasn’t truly mine. Deep down, I knew my heart belonged to music.
One day, I woke up with complete clarity. I decided to apply to the conservatory, even though I had only six or seven months to prepare for entrance exams that usually require years of training. It was a huge gap to close, and many people would have considered it unrealistic. But I committed fully. I studied intensely every day, pushed through doubt and exhaustion, and trusted myself.
That was one of the first truly important risks of my life. And it paid off — I was accepted. More importantly, I proved to myself that courage can redirect your destiny.
But the second major risk was even bigger.
Before moving to New York, I was already living a happy and full life. I had traveled to many countries and cities. I had performed, achieved recognition, and built meaningful experiences. From the outside, everything looked complete. I was grateful and fulfilled.
And yet, somewhere deep inside, I always felt a quiet pull toward New York. It’s difficult to explain — it was almost irrational. Every time I thought about the city, I felt something familiar, as if it already belonged to me. As if it was home, even before I lived there.
I carried that feeling for a long time.
After much thought and reflection, I realized I couldn’t ignore it anymore. If I wanted to grow into the fullest version of myself, I had to take that leap.
Before moving, I let go of everything that felt stable and secure. I left behind comfort, predictability, and a life I had carefully built. It wasn’t easy. But I felt calm inside. I was certain I was doing the right thing.
And then something extraordinary happened.
Within the first few days of arriving in New York, I met the love of my life. It felt symbolic — as if the city welcomed me personally. Soon after, important musical opportunities in America began unfolding. Performances, events, milestones — each one felt like confirmation that I was exactly where I was meant to be.
Looking back, moving to New York was the most important and correct risk of my life. It justified itself emotionally, professionally, and spiritually.
Sometimes risks are not about escaping something. Sometimes they are about recognizing where you truly belong — and having the courage to go there.

Marianna , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a singer, songwriter, and author. I also love traveling, as discovering new places constantly inspires my creativity. But above all, music is my life’s mission. For me, music is not just a profession — it is a form of self-expression and a way to do something meaningful in this world.
From a very young age, I felt that music was the space where I could fully express who I am. Over the years, that feeling turned into purpose. My goal has never been only to perform, but to move people, to give them emotion, strength, hope, and inspiration through my voice and my art.
For the past two years, I have had the great honor of performing The American National Anthem at major sporting events across the country, and I continue to do so. This is something I am deeply proud of. Standing in front of thousands of people and singing such an important symbol of unity and pride is a responsibility I take very seriously. Each performance is not just a song — it is a moment of connection.
In addition to performing, I write my own songs. Creating original music is extremely important to me because it allows me to contribute something personal and authentic to the world. Through my lyrics and melodies, I aim to transmit positive emotions and meaningful messages. I believe music has the power to heal, to uplift, and to bring people together.
What sets me apart is that everything I do comes from a place of complete authenticity. I work in a field that is one hundred percent mine — aligned with who I am at my core. I don’t follow trends; I create from truth. I combine discipline with emotion, professionalism with heart.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or a creative person is realizing that through my art — through my singing, my work, and myself — I can do something good for other people. I can inspire, bring positivity, and create meaningful change in people’s lives, especially during difficult times. I truly believe that there is nothing more fulfilling for an artist than that.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Yes, I can share a story. A few years ago, I had a goal that only I truly believed in — exclusively me, I was the only one who fully believed in it. And eventually, it happened — my dream came true.
That experience showed me an important lesson: you must always believe in your own strength, even if you are the only one who believes in yourself. You don’t need others’ validation to move forward, because that inner conviction is incredibly powerful.
