We recently connected with Driving Dawn and have shared our conversation below.
Driving , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project we have ever worked on would be the one that we are on now and that is our first album titled “Love your hate”. What makes this project so meaningful is the message that is delivered in each song. We are a group of five musicians who, through some force of nature, were brought together to deliver something beautiful to the world. Weather it be catching a live performance or connecting with a song, what you will receive from us is raw, pure, genuine authenticity that gives the listener something to connect with. The message that we would like to deliver is to be present and live in the moment. Life is too short to dwell in the past and too precious to worry about the future. So for us, if the listener can enjoy a moment wether it be at a show or driving around in your car but for a single moment you are just present listening, feeling the emotion and finding a sense of solitude, there is something very special in that. A leading example of this would be one night, we played this show at a small venue. There was this gentleman that came up to us after the show and he said I would just like to thank you because I came here tonight with the intention of going home and taking my life, but after witnessing what you guys did tonight the amount of effort I saw you give, it gave me a change of heart. He said since you all are trying so hard to do what you love, I thought I can try a little bit harder too.

Driving , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Driving Dawn is an American rock band that formed in the back yard as a party band by drummer Matt Jaroneski, rythm guitarist Brendan Goyette, and myself on lead guitar Zack winkel. The three of us grew up as life long friends in the stomping grounds of Elmira Michigan. Once realizing what we had held some serious potential, we set out in search of a lead singer and found front man Danny Grim. Danny and myself worked together for a short time at a recreational power sports dealership, where he was in another band and I knew he had chops. We juggled around a couple bass players when we finally found Sergio Rios from Long Beach California. The five of us together share a special chemistry that just gels. One of the most important things in a band is to ensure that the people you are working with all gel, because not only are you working together but you are a faimly, and for that reason especially is what makes what we have going so special. We have quickly worked our way into the music scene of Michigan and plan to start touring regional once our album is out. What we have to offer is what you see. Five genuine guys who love Rock n’ roll who just want to give the listener a good time. You see we’re all adrenaline junkies, so everytime we hit the stage its the best damn feeling in the world. So you can garuntee we will give the most high energy as possible. The problem we can solve for you is giving anyone who listens a good time. Some of our proudest moments would have to be getting to open up for National acts such as Quiet Riot, Jackyl, Lynch Mob, Bullet Boys, L.A. Guns and Josey Scott. Playing those shows definitely gave a sense of accomplishment, where getting to share the stage with some of your heros was really surreal. In addition to that though we have shows we put on that just seem to get bigger and bigger every year, and thats pretty cool to see. Also along with any charity show we have ever played. I mean I could go on really but to sum it up just knowing that people are enjoying what you are putting out really is all that matters and getting to see what difference that can make in a person’s life is beyond anything more we could ask for. So if you’re already a fan reading this we would like to thank you for all your love and support and if you are just discovering us then hop on in because we’re about to give you one hell of a ride.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In this day of age its different. With social media being so popular I would say to support artists, give them a follow , and share with your friends. It’s always word of mouth that travels fast. So if you dig something you like or hear, share it. If you go to a show and you see that artist has merch grab a shirt or three and by a cd if they have them. Lots of musical platforms now don’t really pay artists anything for their material, unfortunately. So big thing would be to do what you can to show you support what they are doing.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist would probably be that knowing what you pour your heart and soul into is felt by the person receiving it that they can connect with and in some cases maybe change their lives. Really that connection between the artist and audience is just what makes doing this so damn enjoyable.
