Christopher , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

Growing up in Buffalo, NY on the Niagara River and Lake Erie the Summers are short but sweet. For years I would spend the Summers on my family’s boat on the weekends stopping at all the hot spots to hang out at. Different swimming holes, beaches, restaurants all while cruising along sightseeing. I would take out different groups of friends and family over the years and it was something that I just really enjoyed doing. It always amazed me how being out on a boat on the water with a group of people, would create an instant bonding of whomever you were with. Whether it was friends you already knew or new people that were a part of the experience, everyone would come back to the dock having a new adventure and experience to share. It is truly a unique social event unlike any other. Nothing is better than reconnecting with old friends or making new ones! Little did I know I was laying the ground work for my future business endeavor..

When the pandemic happened in 2020, I was fortunate enough to be able to relocate to Southwest Florida. It was such a tough time for everyone not being able to socialize and see each other. It was just horrible! I knew that once it was finally over, people were going to want to get out and do things and have new experiences. Fast forward a year or two, I got a part time job working at a marina near a park. People were asking me everyday if I knew anyone that offered boat tours. Eventually I realized the need and went to Captain’s school, bought a boat and started Suncoast Oasis Boat Tours!

Christopher , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I think the great thing about Suncoast Oasis Boat Tours is that we offer several different types of boating experiences. All tours are a private experience on the beautiful, sparkling, warm waters of Sarasota/Siesta Key/Longboat Key. Our standard 2hr pleasure cruise includes sightseeing beautiful homes, canals and marine wildlife. Each experience is customizable up to 6hrs, which includes stopping at different sandbars, beaches and restaurants. Most folks like to pack a lunch, explore the sandbars for sea shells and go for a relaxing swim. Then maybe stop at a local tiki bar and have a drink, just in time for an spectacular sunset!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

The Fall of 2024 was quite challenging with having 3 major hurricanes hit the area within a couple months. We really weren’t sure what business was going to look like after that. Fortunately, we were able to hold on long enough to make it through to the next season. Lots of businesses and friends came together to rebuild the area and get everything back up and running.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Building a good reputation is the cornerstone for any type of business. Word travels fast nowadays, whether it is good or bad. If you strive to put a good product out with great customer service you will be successful! It’s all about creating an experience that people obviously enjoy, but that want to come back and share with more of their friends and family. We often tell people that they will have a great vacation/experience here and that the best day of their trip will be with us!
