We recently connected with Anukkah Laquette and have shared our conversation below.
Anukkah , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The biggest risk I took this year was quitting my 9–5 to pursue my dreams full time and fully step into my God-given talents. I’ve always known I had an entrepreneurial spirit. But for a long time, I was afraid to walk boldly in my purpose. I didn’t know what was on the other side. I didn’t know how leaving my job would impact my livelihood. Fear will make you question what God already confirmed.
But on January 2nd, 2026, I took the leap. I prayed about it. I trusted God. And I realized that my faith should override my fear. Because I knew that putting my all into my own calling would always be more meaningful than putting my all into building someone else’s vision.
Since leaving my 9–5:
– I’ve lost 23 pounds and counting.
– I made history during black history month as the first author to create the first content creator journal and 12-month planner designed specifically for individuals with social anxiety who want to pursue a career in content creation.
– Nominated for the Prismed Award for “Voice of Influence” presented by SNUBBED Magazine in Atlanta, GA.
– Judged a few pageants with some talented young ladies
– Became the host of C.A.V.E Media Hub
– Became a celebrity red carpet interviewer.
And this is only the beginning.
When you choose alignment, everything shifts: your health, your confidence, your opportunities, your impact. So, if you’re reading this and you feel the pull to walk in your purpose, pray about it. Seek clarity. Move when God says move. And trust that what’s on the other side of obedience is greater than what you’re leaving behind.
Faith requires action. And sometimes the biggest risk becomes the greatest reward.

Anukkah , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Anukkah Laquette, I’m from Darlington, South Carolina, and I am a Morris College Alum, I’m a dog mom to Sircey and the Godmother of Asha, Laylah and Prince. I’m an author, CEO of Never Gave Denied, LLC, host and creator of Never Gave Denied Podcast. I’m also a Confidence Coach for the Chi Omega Delta Step Team out of Florence SC, a content creator, pageant/competition judge, and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Just call me “Anukkah of all trades”
As a podcaster, my show is special because I wanted to showcase small businesses, local talent, and creatives to be seen and heard; with an emphasis on highlighting the individuals from my community. The problem that I’m solving is that there are so many talented people from my hometown and other small cities but, they get overlooked because they’re not popular or talked about often. What sets me apart is that I’m here to create a promotional, uplifting, and encouraging atmosphere for my guests. I give them a space to finally celebrate themselves and make an episode that’s all about them.
Never Gave Denied came from a TikTok video I recorded in November of 2023 about being “delayed but not denied”. I decided to do a transparency video for my Undeniables (my supporters); because I was known for doing blind reactions and making people laugh, but behind the scenes I wasn’t happy. I felt so behind and was comparing myself to other content creators. I reflected on everything in my life that didn’t go as planned or didn’t follow through for me. Then I realized that even though everything in my life was delayed, it never gave denied, it never gave out sad, it never gave on my behind. God allowed people, situations, and things to enter into my life to remind me of who I was because I was exactly where I was supposed to be; and after I posted the video, I received messages, calls, and comments about how people were inspired by my story. While I was trying to figure out my podcast name, I thought about my overall vision for the show; which was to highlight stories of people who were delayed in life but were not denied, and after rewatching my old video I realized that someone brought it to my attention that I said, “Never Gave Denied” which was the point of my show and that’s how my podcast name was born. After that, I decided to become a CEO of my own entertainment company called “Never Gave Denied, LLC” that houses my podcast along with my social media consultation services, graphic design, competitive judging and confidence coaching. There will be more services added but, you have to stay tuned for that.
I’m most excited about becoming a new author. I recognized a real need for individuals who struggle with social anxiety but still feel called to pursue content creation full time. Too often, talented people silence themselves because they don’t have the right guidance or support. That’s why I created a journal specifically for them. It’s the first of its kind that’s designed to bridge the gap between social anxiety and confident content creation. The journal includes intentional challenges that encourage daily progression, helping creators build confidence, discipline, and consistency one step at a time.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest shifts I had to make was unlearning a survival mindset when it came to finances and replacing it with a longevity mindset, one focused on building generational wealth and long-term freedom for myself and, if I choose to have children, for them as well.
I was raised by a single mother who worked incredibly hard for everything she had. She taught my brother and I the value of dedication, discipline, and perseverance. We understood hard work, but we were surviving. Financial literacy wasn’t something we were exposed to.
As I grew, I realized that working hard is important but understanding how money works is transformational.
Today, my family and I are investors. We’ve educated ourselves, shifted our thinking, and embraced the importance of financial literacy. We no longer operate from survival; we build with intention.
We are proof that just because you grew up one way doesn’t mean you have to live that way forever. Your starting point does not determine your ceiling.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is seeing how inspired my supporters are. From the hugs to the heartfelt messages to the artwork they’ve sent me, every gesture reminds me why I do what I do.
I create content for them, especially for the moments when they’re feeling low or just need something to make them smile. I’m intentional about showing up as my authentic self so they can see what’s possible when you embrace who you truly are.
I want them to know that they can pursue whatever their heart desires. If I can step out on faith and walk in my purpose, so can they.
