Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Leah Eber. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Leah, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Before I started Life with Leah, I was working in my corporate job and excelling quickly. There was just one problem, I wasn’t fulfilled.
Outside of work, I started leaning into my passion for health, wellness, and fitness by helping people transform their lives and their health. It began as something small by sharing advice, then I became a Life Coach and started coaching people, then I started studying more deeply, and became certified in Advanced Personal Training and Wellness Coaching and from there I started learning everything I could! The more I was helping, the more alive I felt! Conversations energized me. Helping people shift their mindset or improve their health lit a fire inside of me that no performance review ever had. I was fulfilled knowing I was making a positive impact for people and helping them change their lives and their personal health!
I realized that by day, I was building someone else’s vision and by night, I was dreaming about building my own.
The real risk wasn’t quitting. The real risk was choosing to believe I was capable of creating something sustainable outside the structure that had always defined success for me.

Leah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am the owner and founder of Life with Leah, a Health and Wellness company focusing on: personal training, wellness coaching, and nutrition coaching. I specialize in life transformations, whether that is through weight loss, increased athletic performance, improved nutritional habits or improved personal wellbeing.
I provide personalized wellness coaching, fitness programming, nutrition guidance, and science-based lifestyle strategies designed to meet individuals where they are. I work with clients across different ages and fitness levels, including those who are just starting their health journey and those who want to rebuild strength, confidence, and consistency. My services focus on sustainable results, helping clients create habits they can maintain for life, not just for a few weeks.
The problems I solve go beyond workouts and meal plans. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck, burnt out, or disconnected from their bodies. Some struggle with motivation. Others feel intimidated by fitness culture or confused by conflicting health advice online. I help simplify the process, remove the noise, and create clear, realistic strategies that actually fit their lives. I also emphasize mindset work, because lasting transformation rarely happens without mental and emotional alignment.
What sets me apart is that my work is rooted in both education and empathy. I don’t coach from theory alone. I coach from understanding. I know what it feels like to push through challenges, to question your path, and to rebuild yourself stronger. Because of that, I approach every client with compassion, not judgment. My philosophy is that progress should feel empowering, not punishing.
I’m most proud of the impact my work has had on people’s lives. I love it when my clients tell me, “I feel like myself again,” or “I finally believe I can do this.” Those moments remind me why I chose this path in the first place! People need to know that they too can do hard things and ultimately overcome challenges that feel impossible!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Building my reputation in my market didn’t come from one viral moment or one big opportunity. It came from a combination of consistency, authenticity, results, and trust built over time.
One of the biggest factors was consistency. I showed up before anyone was watching. I created content, shared education, coached clients, and refined my programs long before there was large visibility or recognition. In the wellness space especially, people can tell when someone is only present for attention versus when they’re truly committed to helping others. Showing up regularly, helped establish credibility and demonstrated that I wasn’t just passionate, I was dependable.
Another major factor was authenticity. I’ve always been open about my story, including the challenges I’ve faced and the lessons I’ve learned. Instead of presenting myself as someone who has it all figured out, I positioned myself as someone who understands the process.
Results also played a huge role. When clients began experiencing real, sustainable progress, not quick fixes, but lasting change, they talked about it. Word of mouth is still one of the strongest reputation builders in any industry. Testimonials, referrals, and personal recommendations created momentum that no marketing strategy alone could replicate. People trust people, and when someone’s life genuinely improves, they share that.
Education and professionalism helped strengthen that foundation. I invested in certifications, continued learning, and science-based approaches so that my guidance wasn’t just motivational. I was informed and responsible. In a space where misinformation is common, being grounded in evidence set me apart and positioned me as a reliable resource rather than just another voice online.
What also helped was my approach to clients. I treat every person as an individual, not a template. I listen carefully, personalize strategies, and prioritize long-term sustainability over fast results. Clients feel that level of care, and when people feel seen and supported, they remember it. Reputation grows when people feel genuinely valued, not processed.
I also believe my background as an athlete contributes to my credibility. Athletics instilled discipline, resilience, and a performance mindset that translates naturally into coaching. It shows people that I don’t just teach consistency, I live it!
Most importantly, I built my reputation by focusing on impact over image. Instead of chasing trends or trying to appear successful, I concentrated on being useful. I asked myself: Is this helping someone? Is this clear? Is this honest? Over time, that focus created trust, and trust is ultimately what reputation is made of.
If I had to summarize it, my reputation wasn’t built on popularity. It was built on showing up, staying real, delivering results, and putting people first.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I received A full-ride scholarship as a division one track and field athlete. My freshman year of college I developed three stress fractures in my femur. Which required me to sit out of competition my first year of school. I was devastated to say the least. I had prepared for this moment for years and all the sudden I wasn’t sure how the injury would impact my future and my career as an athlete. It was months of rehabbing, wearing a boot and working to get back to my old self back. Physical therapy and rehab are not only physically taxing, but it is mentally and emotionally draining. It’s hard to trust that the future is bright when you have an injury and dealing with that amount of physical pain was tough. Every day, I focused on my goals and who I wanted to become once I healed. Even though I wasn’t training physically and at practice with my teammates like I was used to, I was training mentally and I became stronger in that way. Once you have something you love that’s been taken from you, it changes you. I was in the position where I had to decide to fight or give up. I chose to fight and that made me stronger than ever! After about 9 months, I came back healed and ready for competition. When you’re an athlete sitting out for a competition year is tough. As a recruit, not being able to compete and help my teammates out that first year, I really felt like I was letting everyone down. Once I came back, I made it a point to be the best teammate and athlete I could be for those round me. During my years in school, I was a four time Big 10 champion, an All- American and I qualified for the Olympic trials in long jump. I want everyone to know that life will always give you challenges but it’s important that we learn from them, and it’s important to grow from the obstacles we face and to choose whether we fight or whether we give up on ourselves. There’s always an opportunity for growth when we face challenging times. I encourage people to always choose to fight for yourself so that you can see what it’s like to become the better version of yourself! We all deserve to see what it looks like when we live up to our potential.
