We recently connected with Kaela Cherise and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaela, thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
When people remember me, I want them to always note that I kept God first and always figured out a way to keep going. Giving up is never an option for me. I hope that in the end, I’ve done enough to make sure my child (or children) don’t have to do as much. I’d love to have a daughter one day, and pass down everything to her. As time continues, I pray that KAECHE grows into a household name, and that she gets to reap the benefits of that.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Kaela Cherise, and I’m a 25 year old jewelry designer + business owner. The name of my online store is KAECHE. I began KAECHE in 2019 with one goal in mind, and that was to create jewelry until that helped me be able to afford to create clothing. As you can see, jewelry took over and now has my heart.
My company specializes in custom, tarnish free, water-resistant pieces. Our audience is obsessed with our quality zodiac, nameplate, and birth-year selections. We provide a luxury experience at a price that is very fair.
One thing I love about my brand is the loyalty my customers have. There have been countless times where someone will send us an image of a piece of jewelry that we don’t offer, but they want to see if we can produce it for them; and of course, we always can.
I’m proud of my company because to start a business at 21 years old and it’s still standing today, that’s a huge deal. I believe what sets me apart from others is my ability to go the extra mile to ensure a perfect experience for each customer. If a customer reaches out with a problem, even if it’s technically “out of my control”, I pray and find a way to fix it. A happy returning customer is essential for me. I believe there’s no product important enough for someone to ignore a bad customer service experience.
I’m also proud to say that I’ve been able to get my pieces in the hands of amazing celebrities like India Love, Elizabeth Woods, Whitney Peak, Draya Michele, Heather Sanders, Jade Pinkett, and more. None of this would be possible without God. I set goals, I pray over them, and I leave the rest to Him. I pray that I’m able to add on to this list this year.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Word of mouth without a doubt is the reason people know and trust my brand. I used to have a lot of brand ambassadors that fit within my target audience, and they truly loved my pieces. Them simply wearing the pieces in public or posting for their friends to see really helped me gain people’s trust and also their respect.
If I could give advice to a business owner: Don’t be afraid to give away products to influencers from time to time, or anyone who fits within your target audience. As long as they’ve agreed to post or make content for you, that’s always an opportunity to get more people knowing your name or your products.

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
Although when I first started I would manufacture my own products, I no longer do that. I searched for the perfect manufacturing team and found them in late 2019. When I first started working with them, I’d select items from a wholesale catalog and have them sent to me. As time went on, I wanted to be more involved in the process. I started to design pieces, but I also select pieces from them and have them reproduced with the materials that meet my standards. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that I have the control, and if I don’t speak up and stand firm in what I need, I won’t get very far. It wasn’t super easy to switch the material the jewelry was created with, because I didn’t have the biggest budget. But after forming a relationship with the manufacturers, they saw my value, which is more important than dollars to them.
