Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Scovronski. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
The Struggle: When Risk Meets Reality
The “risk” wasn’t just a one-time decision; it was a years-long test of endurance. To stay with my children, I took babysitting jobs that allowed them to come with me. We eventually moved in with my parents, and at one point, lived in a pop-up camper in my grandmother’s driveway just to keep our family together while my husband worked to get us back on our feet.
The stress of survival took a devastating toll. By 2011, my health had collapsed. I was suffering from extreme brain fog, malnourishment, and autoimmune issues that left me needing ten hours of sleep plus multiple naps a day. I felt out of control and physically broken. But it was in this “rock bottom” moment that the second part of my risk-taking journey began: the decision to completely reinvent my life and my health.
The Turnaround: From Healing to Helping
I spent a decade diving into the science of food as medicine. I went back to school to become a nutritional health coach, reversing most of my symptoms and launching my own business in 2016. Yet, a final piece of the puzzle was missing—the physical trauma from my emergency C-sections.
In 2020, I took a “fringe” risk: I sought out an apprentice of a fifth-generation medicine man from Ecuador. Through non-invasive abdominal organ realignment, my uterus—which had been adhered to my abdominal wall for years—was finally released. The chronic pain and hormonal swings that had plagued me for over a decade vanished within days.
This experience was so transformative that I took another leap. I went back to school for massage therapy so I could apprentice in this ancient medicine system myself.
The Result: Holistic Awakenings
Today, I am the founder of Holistic Awakenings With Ashley, which I officially launched in 2025. I walked away from the “safety” of a government pension to follow a path that felt divinely guided. Every day, I hold space for women who feel unheard—those navigating challenging menstrual cycles, the heartbreak of fertility struggles, or the physical toll of cysts and fibroids. I get to use my journey to help them find the healing I once thought was impossible. I would take the risk all over again; while the road was long, I never had to miss my children growing up, and I built a legacy where my heart and my work are finally in alignment.

Ashley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a licensed massage therapist and certified nutritional health coach, but at my core, I am a guide for women who feel like their bodies have stopped listening to them. As the founder of Holistic Awakenings With Ashley, I’ve spent over a decade blending integrative nutrition, botanical medicine, and bodywork to help women unlock their natural healing potential.
My journey into this field wasn’t just professional—it was deeply personal. I got into this industry after my own health collapsed following the birth of my children and the stress of the 2007 recession. I learned the hard way that when your body “whispers” for years with fatigue and minor aches, eventually it starts to “scream.” My business was born out of the necessity to find answers that modern healthcare often overlooks.
The Work: Realigning the Body, Mind, and Spirit
I provide a specialized, personalized approach to women’s health. My work is a blend of modern science and ancient, generationally-passed wisdom. My services include:
Foundational Treatment Programs: 2.5-hour integrated sessions that combine massage, cupping, and energy work.
Abdominal Organ Alignment: A non-invasive technique rooted in indigenous wisdom to physically realign organs that have shifted due to trauma, surgery, or stress.
Pre-conception & Postpartum Restoration: Supporting women through the most transformative physical stages of their lives.
Nutritional Health Coaching: Cutting through the “nutritional confusion” to find the foods that actually heal.
What Sets Me Apart: The “Root Cause” Perspective
What truly distinguishes my practice is that I don’t just look at symptoms as problems to be suppressed; I look at them as “switches” that have been flipped. Most practitioners look at the part that hurts; I look at the Root Causes that modern healthcare often misses:
Misaligned Organs: When organs shift, they compromise blood, lymph, and nerve flow.
Dense Scar Tissue: Especially from C-sections or surgeries, which can adhere to the abdominal wall and cause shooting pain or hormonal disruption.
Blood Volume & pH: We focus on the quality and volume of your blood, ensuring your “internal river” can actually deliver nutrients to your cells.
Energetic Blockages: Addressing the emotional and vital energy pathways that, when blocked, manifest as chronic fatigue or “unexplained” pain.
I am most proud of creating a space where women finally feel heard. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a woman who has suffered from “out of control” cycles, fibroids, or unexplained anxiety finally find relief because we addressed the physical alignment of her body and the nourishment of her blood. I am proud to carry forward ancient medicine systems—like those I learned from my teachers – a lineage 5 generations deep — and make them accessible to the modern woman.
What I Want You to Know
If you are experiencing constant fatigue, pelvic pain, or cycles that feel like a monthly battle, I want you to know that you aren’t “broken,” you are likely just out of alignment. My brand, Holistic Awakenings With Ashley, is built on the belief that your body has an incredible capacity to heal if you give it the right environment. Whether you are preparing for a baby, recovering from one, or navigating the transitions of menopause, my goal is to help you move from a state of “survival” back into a state of thriving. Your health isn’t just about the absence of disease; it’s about the presence of vitality.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
The Funding Story: A Harvest of Trust
The Unexpected Pivot
After four years of apprenticing under my teacher, I was suddenly given a “push out the door.” She was closing her doors temporarily to take a much-needed break, and suddenly, I had less than eight weeks to find a space, secure capital, build a website, and launch Holistic Awakenings With Ashley.
At first, I panicked. The old financial trauma from 2007 rushed back—that fear that I wouldn’t be able to put food on the table or that we might lose our home again. But this time was different. This time, I wasn’t alone in a pop-up camper with my husband and two toddlers; I was surrounded by a community I had spent nearly a decade serving.
The Power of Community Support
The moment I shared my situation with my clients, friends, and family, I was met with an overwhelming wave of love. My clients—women who had experienced life-changing physical and emotional shifts through this medicine—weren’t about to let this work disappear.
A family friend and financial advisor called me immediately. He was blunt: “Ashley, if you are not in my office Monday morning to review your business plan, I’m kicking you to the curb. You were always meant to do this work, and you will do it worry-free, because that’s how much we believe in you.”
Investing in the Vision
That Monday, we sat down and mapped out the future. I actually had four different clients offer to fully fund the business because they believed in the mission so deeply. Ultimately, the capital came from a place of deep personal connection: my twin sister.
My sister had been one of my clients and the person I “practiced” on throughout my training. She had seen the miracles firsthand. She stepped in as my financial backer, not just as a sibling, but as someone who understood that this ancient medicine system needed a home in our community.
The Lesson in Resilience
I realized then that my “initial capital” wasn’t just a dollar amount—it was the trust I had built since 2016. I learned that when you do work that truly changes people’s lives, the community will rise up to sustain it. I went from panic to a fully realized business plan and a funded practice in a matter of weeks, proving that when you follow your divine calling, the resources follow you.
It’s been a whirlwind transition. In fact, if you look for my website today, you’ll find little more than a landing page. I haven’t had a single moment to focus on digital aesthetics because my business has been booming from day one. I am currently booked out eight weeks in advance, entirely through word-of-mouth and the loyalty of clients who followed me into this new chapter. It’s a testament to the fact that when you provide deep, transformative healing, people don’t need a fancy website—they just need to know where to find you.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The Resilience to Rebuild
I mentioned earlier the risk I took leaving my teaching career, but the years that followed were where my resilience was truly forged. Resilience isn’t just about making a brave choice; it’s about the “middle part” of the story—the long, quiet stretch where you have to keep going even when the finish line isn’t in sight.
For example my “Grandmother’s Driveway” moment
If I had to pick one moment that illustrates this, it would be that summer living in a pop-up camper in my grandmother’s driveway with two toddlers. On paper, it looked like I had lost everything: my home, my career stability, and my health. I was dealing with a body that was failing me—struggling with Epstein-Barr and autoimmune symptoms—while trying to be the “pillar” for my children.
Resilience, for me, was choosing to see that time as a refining fire rather than a dead end. Instead of giving up and rushing back to a “safe” job that would have pulled me away from my babies, I used that time to listen. I listened to my grandmother’s stories of the past about the great depression, and I started listening to what my body was trying to tell me.
The Resilience of the “Long Game”
I spent ten years studying food and healing before I felt I had fully “reversed” my symptoms. Resilience in entrepreneurship is often portrayed as a fast-paced “hustle,” but for me, resilience was the patience to heal and the stamina to go back to school in my 40s to get my massage license.
I had to be resilient enough to face the “crazy looks” from people when I talked about organ alignment and ancient medicine systems. It takes a certain kind of strength to stand in your truth when it doesn’t align with the status quo.
The Lesson for My Clients
I share this because my resilience is now the foundation of Holistic Awakenings. When a woman walks into my practice feeling defeated by her body or her cycles, I can look her in the eye and say, “I know exactly what it feels like to be at rock bottom, and I know the way out.” My resilience didn’t just save my life; it gave me the authority to help other women save theirs.
