Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Theron. G Johnson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Theron. G, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
I woke one day and said the heck with playing drums in a band that was just local gigs. Wanted to get back to reading and writing screenplays and books. There was a burning passion to put something together that I wanted a broad audience to see. I wrote ,starred and executive produced my own film Kingdom Reign which is now out on Amazon Prime. I felt that whatever I lock into I can achieve.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I would say that I’m a risk taker a driven person whose imagination is a world of possibilities. I grew up admiring the older guys and how the hustle for them was unmatched. I didn’t have a father present so I mimicked my uncles and friends fathers and my grandmother was my rock. In my mind I always believed that I was a superhero, not because I was a dreamer but I really believed it. Music was my breakthrough and it helped me express myself.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Yes I wish would’ve known before hand how much time and money you need to get it done.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Yes, I was the kid that if you said I can’t do it then I’ll just go do it. Everything was a challenge for me. I wrote my first movie and produced it with a little bit of anything. I just adapted and overcame my fears. I was blessed to pick many hobbies such as cutting hair, working on cars playing music and also competing for the 2010 Olympic Games for the United States bobsled team.
