We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Megan Butts. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Megan below.
Megan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
With big dreams, I rented a cozy 500 sq. ft. space, just enough room for 10 kids at a time.
I hosted small classes and special Parents’ Night Out events… and something magical happened.
Families kept coming back.
Creativity filled the room.
Soon, birthday parties were added, laughter got louder, and Craft Lab quickly outgrew its first home.
Next came a bigger space, more room to create, and even more opportunities for kids to explore, imagine, and make a mess (the good kind!).
With space to dream even bigger, Summer Camps launched, bringing full days of art, imagination, friendships, and unforgettable memories.

Megan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Before Craft Lab
It all started with a love for creating together.
I taught Parent/Child Community Education classes, hosted Mommy & Me playdates and crafts right in my home, and shared kids’ activities, crafts, and science ideas online
“Moon Child Adventures” building a community of families who loved hands on fun just as much as I did.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
It has been most rewarding building a space where kids create with confidence, families feel welcome, and imagination leads the way.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
And the story?
It’s still being written, one project, one smile, one masterpiece at a time.
