Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Manasa. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Manasa, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I started Moinasiashop with a simple idea; selling motivational bracelets that encouraged positivity and self-love. But as I interacted with customers and paid closer attention to my own needs, I noticed a bigger gap. I struggled to find high quality cocoa body butter in stores that was fragrance-free, gentle, and truly safe for sensitive skin. Most options were filled with chemicals or synthetic scents, and I knew others were experiencing the same frustration. That realization shifted everything. I began researching ingredients, learning about proper sourcing, and experimenting with formulations that would nourish dry and sensitive skin without harsh additives. I spent time understanding where cocoa butter comes from, how it’s processed, and how to ensure it remained pure and effective. My focus became creating something intentional not just skincare, but a product people could trust. From there, I moved into action: sourcing quality ingredients, testing small batches, refining textures, and sharing samples for feedback. Each step taught me what customers actually needed simplicity, hydration, and safety for their skin. What started as a small idea quickly turned into a mission: to fill the gap in the market by offering clean, handcrafted body care made specifically for people with dry and sensitive skin.
That’s how Moinasiashop moved from an idea to a real business by listening, learning, and creating solutions rooted in personal experience and genuine need.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m the founder of MoinasiaShop, a small handcrafted wellness and skincare brand created from a personal need for better, safer body care. My journey into this work didn’t start in a lab or corporate setting; it started with curiosity, frustration, and a desire to create something meaningful. I originally began my business by selling motivational bracelets focused on self-love and encouragement, but over time I felt called to build something that supported people on a deeper, more personal level. That shift happened when I struggled to find high-quality cocoa body butter that was truly gentle, fragrance-free, and safe for sensitive skin. Many products on the market were filled with synthetic ingredients or overpowering scents, and I knew people with dry and sensitive skin deserved better. I started researching ingredient sourcing, learning about formulation, and creating small batches using clean, nourishing oils and butters. What began as a personal solution grew into a mission to provide skincare that people could trust. MoinasiaShop now offers handcrafted skincare products like body butters and oils made with quality, carefully sourced ingredients, and the brand continues to expand into wellness-focused products such as journals, tea, and handcrafted items that support mental and emotional well-being. My work sits at the intersection of skincare and self-care.I don’t just want people to moisturize their skin, I want them to slow down, breathe, and feel cared for in the process. The problem I aim to solve is simple but important: many people feel overwhelmed by products that promise results but don’t consider sensitive skin, ingredient transparency, or the emotional side of self-care. MoinasiaShop focuses on creating gentle, intentional products that support dry and sensitive skin while also helping people build calming daily rituals. What sets my brand apart is the intention behind it. Every product is created with purpose, not mass production. I care deeply about ingredient quality, sourcing, and how each item makes someone feel when they use it. MoinasiaShop is not just about skincare; it’s about restoration, comfort, and creating small moments of peace in everyday life. What I’m most proud of is turning a personal frustration into something that helps others. Building Moinasiashop has been a journey of learning, persistence, and listening closely to what people truly need. I’m proud that the brand stands for authenticity, care, and accessibility, especially for those who have struggled to find products that work for their skin. The main thing I want people to know about me and my work is that it’s real, intentional, and rooted in community. I’m not trying to be a perfect brand. I’m building something honest, thoughtful, and evolving. Moinasiashop exists to remind people that self-care doesn’t have to be complicated or luxurious to be meaningful. It can be simple, gentle, and deeply personal.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
I funded the start of MoinasiaShop through personal savings from my 9–5 job. In the early stages, I was intentional about setting money aside to invest in ingredients, packaging, and small-batch production. I started small, purchasing only what I needed and reinvesting every sale back into the business to keep it growing sustainably. There was no outside funding or large upfront investment just consistency, discipline, and belief in the vision. Building MoinasiaShop this way allowed me to stay in control, learn the business step by step, and grow at a pace that felt realistic and aligned with my purpose.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the idea that I had to do everything perfectly and constantly push myself without slowing down. When I first started building MoinasiaShop, I thought working harder and staying busy all the time was the only way to succeed. I quickly realized that without organization and structure, things became overwhelming, mistakes happened more often, and I felt burned out. The backstory is simple but real balancing a 9–5 job while building a business taught me that discipline alone isn’t enough. I had to learn that organization is key to staying consistent and protecting my time, and that self-care isn’t optional when you’re building something meaningful. I also had to give myself grace when mistakes happened instead of seeing them as failures.Unlearning perfectionism and learning to slow down, reset, and care for myself actually made me a better business owner. It helped me stay grounded, make clearer decisions, and build MoinasiaShop with intention instead of pressure.
