Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Juliana Mountney. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Juliana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
When you are someone who is creative putting yourself out there to share your “art” is always a risk. It’s like sharing a piece of your heart without knowing if the handler will be gentle. Comparison is the thief of joy they say. And that couldn’t be more real for an artist. We are also our own worst enemy! I don’t think I’ve ever been fully satisfied with my work. I always think back on what I could have, or should have done. It’s a revolving door of doubt, but with that being said I wouldn’t change it for the world. It brings me so much deep happiness. It’s therapy, it’s everything. Moral of the story, keep taking risks. Keep putting yourself out there.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a floral designer! I don’t know why but I really don’t love the word “florist” it sounds dated!
I’m someone who can create a vibe, a whimsy, a feeling through flowers. Anything from personal arrangements, to full blown weddings, special events. It doesn’t matter. In my opinion any gathering or special day needs flowers!
I’m a one woman show, so you will be getting your flowers directly from me. And no two arrangements are alike. Each wedding, arrangement is unique. I truly believe this is how it should be!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Word of mouth!! There’s truly no better marketing! It’s a win win. Someone who is elated with the product you provided and shares you with friends and family is incredible! There’s a trust, and warmth built even before you meet!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I think you HAVE to be resilient to be in this industry. Nothing is guaranteed. Flowers die, inventory can be low, weather can be a bitch. You have to allow yourself to quickly accept and move forward in a different direction if need be. I believe this is where growth happens. It’s a necessary evil!
