We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Audrey Mongrain. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Audrey below.
Audrey, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
My business stems from my personal struggles with health and fitness as a women and dancer, and also what I continuously see overall. Being a young dancer growing up, we face many struggles on what is it that we should eat, and what is it that we should train, in order to feel and look our best. Many times, I fell into unhealthy and negative patterns, by what was out there in the world. I realized what I was doing was only hurting and killing me. I then decided, after my time cheering for the Las Vegas Raiders, to create a business to primarily help women dancers wanting to go pro on how to correctly fuel and train. Every client that comes to me, I work with individually to see what we can do to solve the root problem and create a system that helps and aligns with their lifestyle. My business has branched out to overall train dancers on the technique, interview, the pro look, and the non-physical side of training as well. I wanted to give an all-in-one program that gave dancers the answers they’ve been searching for in order to be successful when auditioning to go pro.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Audrey, I am an online fitness, nutrition, and dance coach owner. I create programs to help women feel and look their best, while also training girls to make their pro team. I am an alumni 5x raiderette, while still working for the organization as a sideline ambassador. My passion for helping others is what sparked my interest in creating my business after I retired from cheerleading and wanted to give back to that community. With my business and what sets me apart is it isn’t just one program fits all. It’s custom programs that fit each client’s needs and lifestyles. Not only do we create programs that work with their lifestyle, but is manageable and doable while also challenging. Working one on one with my dancers and coaching clients and finding the root cause and being there for them no matter what day or time it is, is something I am genuinely proud of. In my industry of fitness, nutrition, and pro cheer, I feel there is a lot of mis leading information out there, and a lot of non-individual work. I see many girls, dancers, woman, and girls continue to make the same mistakes by assuming they know what to do based off of what influencers give them or what is given to the general public. With my love in changing lives, my program gives the exact 1:1 fix to it all. I give so much love and attention to detail in my work and am working every day to improve my program to better fit my client’s needs.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
A story in my journey of when I faced resilience is the whole reason why my brand is where it is at. When I retired from the Raiderettes, mentally I was not in a good spot. Living in Vegas was really tough. I was working in the night club industry and I truly let the industry suck me in. Once retired, I felt I lost my entire identity. I started hanging with the wrong crowds, doing things I am not necessarily proud of, and completely becoming an unrecognizable person in the worst ways. I gained weight, I didn’t care for my health, partied all the time, and more. It wasn’t until one day I realized that this is not who I was meant to be, and I can’t have been an NFL Cheerleader be the peak of my existence. I decided to take back control of my life and take action. I went back to school and decided I wanted to be a health coach. I reversed my lifestyle. I decided to open up a small virtual business, not knowing what would sprout from it. It first started by wanting to be a fitness and nutrition coach, but later evolved into a Pro Coach, coaching girls to make their pro teams with fitness, nutrition, dance privates, interview prep, makeup and hair classes, a community group, resume guidance, social media auditing, and more. A year and a couple months later, I now have roughly 14 employees, 175 current clients, and have made well over a half million-dollar business, all because I wanted a change. My story goes to show that it doesn’t matter where you start, what your past was, or what you have been through. People see the person I am, and appreciate my vulnerable story, and admire the work and effort I pour into them as clients.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
My most effective strategy with growing clientele has got to be just being authentic. I am really big on being organic. At first, there were times I tried automating systems, setting ads, just to get the most out of my time, but realized people read right through that. I decided to revert back and be human. I really emphasis on making sure all followers, people, and clients feel seen by me. I always spark conversations, check in, and respond to everyone on a timely and rushed manner, because people want to be seen and heard, and I want them to as well. Reaching out to all followers, responding back to all messages, engaging with my crowd, and making people feel seen have worked in my benefit.
