We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful LaSalle Moore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with LaSalle below.
LaSalle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
The first time I knew I didn’t want a normal job and wanted to pursue a creative path was around 2014 or 2015.
By that time I was already knee deep in to fashion and runway shows but there was one designer I came in contact with that showed me the behind the scene process and how everything comes together! That was truly amazing to me and influenced me to dive deeper into the bts of actually creating and curating all types of art!

LaSalle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is LaSalle Moore, and I’m a creative director, makeup artist, and curator based in Detroit, Michigan. My journey into the creative industry began early long before I ever stepped behind the scenes. I started modeling at the age of six and returned to the industry from 2013 to 2017. Being in front of the camera gave me firsthand experience in fashion, beauty, and production, but more importantly, it sparked a deeper curiosity about how everything came together.
As I continued modeling, I fell in love with the process behind the scenes the planning, organization, creative direction, and collaborative energy that turns an idea into a full experience. I realized I wanted more than to be part of the moment; I wanted to help create it.
That desire led me to work as a brand ambassador and assistant for a Detroit-based brand, AnArtkey Life, which has since evolved into Profit Brand. There, I learned the ins and outs of event curation everything from concept development and logistics to community engagement and execution. That hands-on experience laid the foundation for the work I do today.
From there, I branched out on my own. I taught myself makeup artistry and began producing and curating my own events, from beauty workshops to fashion shows and creative experiences. Today, my work sits at the intersection of beauty, fashion, and culture. I provide creative direction, makeup services, and experiential event curation that help brands, creatives, and communities bring their visions to life.
What sets me apart is my full-circle perspective I understand what it means to be the talent, the creator, and the organizer. I’m most proud of building opportunities that amplify others while staying rooted in Detroit’s creative community. I want people to know that my brand is about intention, collaboration, and creating spaces where creativity feels accessible, elevated, and authentic.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative for me is seeing a vision fully come to life. It makes every late night and challenge worth it. There’s something powerful about knowing you set a goal, stayed committed, and didn’t let anything stop you from completing it. I love creating experiences that make people feel good, feel seen, and walk away with a memory. For me, it’s not just about the work it’s about the vibe, the energy, and the lasting impact it leaves on people.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I think this is something a lot of people struggle to understand not just creatives versus non-creatives. The creative journey isn’t always linear, and it often requires balancing passion with real life. There are moments when life gets heavy, and it becomes difficult to juggle your personal world, your responsibilities, and your creative or business goals all at once.
What I’ve learned is the importance of not giving up, even when things feel overwhelming. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, to pause, or to reassess. Growth comes from setting clear goals, creating deadlines, and pushing yourself through the uncomfortable moments. It’s not always about working smarter or harder it’s about staying committed and showing up consistently.
Most importantly, don’t give up on yourself. Every challenge teaches you something, and everything truly does happen for a reason. If you keep going, it will all connect in ways you couldn’t see at the time.
