We recently connected with Ne’Shia Holden and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ne’Shia, thanks for joining us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
To begin with, I’m very happy being a creative ! It’s very fulfilling to me on the daily basis . The struggles or growing pains that come with being an artist definitely can overwhelm you with doubt. You will have those moments where you wonder what if you took an easier way but then whenever you try that it leads you back to what’s passionate in your soul.
I’ve tried to deter from the art world but nothing has been as exhilarating as art and the avenues of art in this lifetime for me . I haven’t worked outside of my career endeavors for over a year now. I officially have taken the risk to see how far I can go after forcefully exiting the last job I worked and disliked. I told myself there’s no turning back .

Ne’Shia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well, I have a few ways for people become familiar with me and what I do. I’m a licensed Master Cosmetologist. I always wanted to do hair and to be able to work when I’m not on set. I focus on natural hair care primarily. I am a professional actress as well . I’ve always wanted to be apart of how stories are told. I currently have a short film on YouTube that I’m starring in entitled: “Say Something”. I also still have a movie on Amazon Prime entitled: “Good Morning Moon”.
Lastly, I have a wine glass business . I hand paint wine glasses and other wine decor items as well as host sip and paints. This was also something I became interested in due to making sure I had control over my time as I went on to pursue acting . No matter the lane I’m in I stand on authenticity and being present .
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, there’s many reasonings that keep me going . I dream of doing whatever I want when I want . I love to travel and love being free to just change my scenery . I dream to be able to travel the world wherever and whenever. I also want to be able to help other creatives and communities as well . I want to be free mentally and financially. Money leads to freeing your time and the more time you have the more freedom you have.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Some of my go-to books are Viola Davis’s memoir; The Alchemist; and The Four Agreements.
