We were lucky to catch up with Jessie Burner recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jessie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
How I started Studio 757.
It all started back in high school. I was the drummer in a heavy metal band called Bloodroot, and like every young musician, we were at the mercy of recording studios. We didn’t have a major label backing us or disposable income to burn, so we were constantly fighting uphill — struggling with audio engineers, chasing studio time, and never quite getting the product we imagined.
That’s when it clicked for me: if I truly wanted to make music — whether on stage or behind the console — I needed to learn how to shape the sound myself.
I went to school for audio engineering and music production with the dream of working in a studio. But after graduation, reality set in. I found myself working a regular 9-to-5, clocking in at a restaurant job I hated. And then came the moment that changed everything: I asked myself what my life would look like if I spent 40 hours a week building my dream instead of someone else’s.
That same day, I walked out of that job and never went back.
By then, it had been four years since I graduated, and I’d invested in pro studio equipment. I had built a solid home setup, and thanks to some graphic design skills, I made a flyer and posted it on Craigslist in 2008:
“Professional home recording studio — $20 an hour!”
I needed a name, and since my house number was 757, I kept it real and called it Studio 757.
In 2008, the idea of a home studio wasn’t common. Artists expected a commercial building with a front desk and a giant glass window. I remember one client who pulled up, saw it was a house, and almost drove away — until he came inside, saw the gear, and heard his vocals sounding radio-ready. After that, word started to spread.
One of my early clients, Philip Mahoney, recorded a demo with me and later got signed to Sony. Another longtime client, Warren Wilson (Dubskie), has been working with me since 2010 and has been making thousands per month in royalties from songs we created together. And those are just two names out of the hundreds of artists I’ve worked with over the years.
It didn’t happen overnight. It took time, consistency, and pushing through the moments where I thought it might not work. And even now, I still have months where I question things — but one thing I’ve learned is this:
Whatever you put your time into is what will grow.
And I’ve been growing ever since.

Jessie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who may not know me, my name is Jessie Burner, and I’m the owner, producer, and audio engineer behind Studio 757. My journey into music started back in high school. I was a drummer in a heavy metal band, and like a lot of young musicians, we were totally dependent on recording studios to bring our ideas to life. We never had the budget or the backing to get the sound we really wanted, and after running into the same wall over and over, I realized something important: if I wanted great results, I needed to learn how to create them myself.
That pushed me into studying audio engineering and music production, and once I graduated, I had the dream of working in a studio full-time. But life doesn’t always go according to plan—I found myself stuck in a 9–5 restaurant job, feeling creatively unfulfilled. Then one day I had an epiphany: What would my life look like if I spent 40 hours a week on my dream instead of someone else’s? That same day, I walked out of that job and never looked back.
What I Do / What Studio 757 Provides
Today, Studio 757 offers music production, recording, mixing, beatmaking, editing, vocal production, and creative direction. I also create custom beats, EDM tracks, remixes, and full song productions—from songwriting and vocals (including AI-assisted workflows) to final masters ready for release. I help artists bring their ideas to life, whether they’re new to recording or longtime professionals. I also provide branding support—cover art, visualizers, promo ideas, and creative strategies—because I believe artists deserve a full, cohesive experience.
Problems I Solve for Artists
A lot of artists come to me because they want someone they can trust—someone who listens, understands their vision, and treats their music with the same care they would. Many people don’t have the budget for big commercial studios or don’t know where to start. I provide:
• A professional, comfortable environment
• High-quality audio engineering
• Creative guidance and honest feedback
• Industry-level production without industry-level gatekeeping
• A real partnership, not just a transaction
I’ve always been about helping artists sound their best and feel their best about their art.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is the combination of experience, versatility, and the personal connection I build with every artist. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients over the years, across genres—hip-hop, EDM, rock, pop, singer-songwriter, anything. My background as both a musician and engineer gives me a unique perspective: I understand the creative side, the technical side, and the emotional side of making music.
Also, consistency. I built Studio 757 from the ground up, one session at a time, during years when I wasn’t sure if it would work. That dedication shaped the brand and still shows in every project I take on.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m most proud of the long-term relationships I’ve built. Seeing artists grow—from recording their first demo to touring, releasing albums, earning royalties, and finding their sound—is the most rewarding part of what I do. Watching clients succeed reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.
What I Want People to Know About Me and the Studio
I want people to know that Studio 757 was built out of passion and love for music. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, I’m here to help shape your vision and deliver a product you can be proud of. My goal has always been simple:
to make high-quality, accessible, artist-friendly music production that truly serves the creator.
If you come to Studio 757, you’re not just booking a session—you’re investing in a collaborator who genuinely cares about your art and your future.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to make professional music production accessible and artist-focused. I’m driven by the idea of helping creators bring their vision to life with industry-level quality, honest guidance, and a space where they feel heard, inspired, and supported. At Studio 757, my goal is always to take raw ideas and transform them into finished songs artists can be proud of.
