Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mario Teide. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mario, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so one thing we think people don’t talk about nearly enough is investments – either time or money. What’s one of the best or worst investments you’ve made and what did you learned from the experience?
My girlfriend (best investment of course)

Mario, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve always seen skin as a living canvas. I came to tattooing through a lifelong obsession with drawing and design. I was as interested in how images live on the body as I was in the images themselves, which pulled me into the craft—first by learning fundamentals the slow way, then apprenticing, and building my skill over the last 17 years.
I work on custom tattoos of all sizes, from minimal pieces to large-scale compositions, designed specifically for each client and placement. My style is defined by clarity and contrast—clean structure, intentional negative space, and detailed textures—so the piece reads well from a distance and rewards a close look.
What problems do I solve for clients? I make their lives happier. I’m happy to work with the client to form their ideas into a striking visual personal to them and the space we are working with. It’s really important to me to design with the body’s flow, musculature, and movement in mind, so the tattoo sits naturally and looks intentional from every angle
What sets my work apart –
Concept first, always. I aim for tattoos that are visually striking, but also anchored by an idea—something you can feel, not just see. A designer’s eye for structure and rhythm. I spend as much time removing what a tattoo doesn’t need as I do adding detail, so the final piece is focused and timeless.
Collaboration. The best results happen when clients bring trust and a story, and I bring a clear point of view and a disciplined process.
Respect for longevity. I’m obsessive about how tattoos heal and change; that informs every choice—from placement and scale to texture and contrast.
What I’m most proud of?
The trust clients place in me to mark their bodies—often with work that carries real meaning.
A portfolio that feels coherent without repeating itself; each piece belongs to its wearer first, and to my body of work second. The community that’s grown around the studio: inclusive, patient, and serious about the craft.
For potential clients I’d say that everything I do is tailored. Bring me your ideas and references, but be open to exploration—that’s how we arrive at something truly yours.
I always give each project proper attention. If I’m not the right fit for your idea, I’ll say so respectfully; you deserve a tattoo made by the person who’s best for it.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I was working with them at multiple studios together over a period of about 10 years. We took the decision to go out on our own and open a small family-like studio where people can feel comfortable and that they are getting the best product available.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I travelled as much as I possibly could and took the time to learn as much as I could from the best professionals in the industry. This is something I still do to this day.
