We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kaylee Harrison. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kaylee below.
Kaylee, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
The first time I knew I wanted to pursue a creative path professionally goes all the way back to middle school…long before I had any real technical training. I still remember walking into tryouts for my school’s dance team with zero experience and absolutely no idea what I was doing. Somehow, I made the team. And something lit up in me that day.
That was the moment dance stopped being an activity and became a calling. My love for it grew fast. My mom eventually became the coach, and dance became something we shared deeply. By the time I was in high school, I was choreographing, helping with teams, and spending every spare minute around the art form.
When I graduated and started college, I realized I was spending more time coaching and choreographing than anything else. It hit me: this wasn’t just a hobby I was good at…this was a God-given gift. I kept going back to the idea of “the seed I received, I will sow.” Dance was my seed. Creativity was my seed. And pursuing this path professionally became my way of honoring that gift and pouring it back into others.
That was the moment I stopped questioning whether dance would be my career…and started building a life around it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who may not know me yet, I’m a choreographer, educator, and studio owner who has spent over 12 years (now 13!) building spaces where dancers can grow not only in skill, but in confidence, creativity, and community. I entered this industry in an unconventional way … starting dance later than most …which taught me early on that passion, commitment, and the right environment matter far more than background or circumstances. That belief has shaped everything I do.
Today, I’m the owner of The Force Dance Academy, where our mission goes beyond technique. We don’t just train ..we transform. Our dancers work with an incredible faculty of top-tier artists who coach, inspire, and challenge them to become not just better movers, but stronger humans and true storytellers. For 13 years, we’ve provided elite dance education in Kentucky with an emphasis on artistry, intentional training, and a supportive creative culture. Our choreography is forward-thinking, our training is rigorous, and our community is truly unstoppable.
But my work doesn’t stop inside the studio. I’m passionate about elevating the performing arts in smaller towns …places where talent is abundant but resources, mentorship, and industry access often fall short. I believe wholeheartedly that extraordinary dance communities can thrive anywhere when given the right tools and support. That passion is what led me to create 3C, a brand built around the belief that dance is more than trophies, pressure, or perfection …it’s powerful, formative, and transformative.
3C is designed as a movement and a meeting place: a space where dancers, educators, choreographers, and studio owners can come together to talk honestly, grow collectively, and challenge the norms of our industry. It’s about shifting the culture of dance toward collaboration, compassion, and creativity. Through conversations, resources, education, and community-building, 3C brings people together who believe that dance is not just a career path, but a lifelong influence.
Across everything I do…whether I’m teaching in the studio, mentoring educators, creating choreography, or building community…my purpose is the same: to help people find themselves through movement and to ensure that no talent goes unseen simply because of where someone lives or what they have access to. I’m most proud of the opportunities I’ve helped create in places where they’re often scarce, and the countless dancers and educators who have discovered their voice, confidence, and artistic identity along the way.
If there’s one thing I want potential clients, collaborators, and followers to know, it’s this:
Where you start doesn’t determine how far you can go. With the right support and the right environment, you can create something extraordinary …for yourself, for your dancers, and for your community.
Whether you’re a parent searching for a supportive studio, a dancer ready to push your artistry, or an educator looking to grow and connect, I’m here to help you build something meaningful and lasting.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is simple: to give others the same joy, freedom, and transformation that dance gave me. The impact it had on me when I was younger is something I can’t fully put into words … it shaped me, grounded me, and opened parts of myself I didn’t even know existed.
I want dancers of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels to have access to that feeling. To discover confidence, purpose, and possibility through movement. My goal is to create environments where dance isn’t just steps … its connection, growth, and becoming the best version of yourself.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a creative is getting to make people feel something. Whether it’s joy, nostalgia, heartbreak, hope, or pure magic … emotion is the heartbeat of what I do.
When a dancer steps into a moment and truly connects… when an audience member feels something stir in them… when someone walks away changed even just a little …that’s everything.
Knowing that something I created allowed someone to experience emotion, release, or clarity, even for a few seconds, is the most fulfilling part of this work. That connection is why I create.
