We were lucky to catch up with Magda Fuskova recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Magda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Since I was young I always liked freedom and had a sense of discipline that came most likely from sports. I always had some goal I was trying to achieve and worked hard for it. I also have a strong opinion that being a responsable is important in life and business.
All these things lead to the fact that I always had my own businesses and had control of my own time.
I cant imagine myself being able to listen to orders that in some cases wouldn’t make sense to me, but still had to do them or having a limit on what I can do when.
I also think that what I mentioned above ( know what hard work is, having discipline, being dependable ) makes me one of the people who are meant to be freelancers or business owners.
Some people might say that you don’t have the guarantee of a regular pay day or a regular amount , but if you are employed you can loose your job based on decision of others. ( For whatever reason … )

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Magda Fuskova and I am from Prague, Czech Republic.
Since I was little, I loved sports and that gave me drive, discipline, sense of responsibility. I always wanted to achieve things that were above the norm.
I studied physiotherapy in `Prague, but at the same time started my first businesses and realised that I want to be my own boss, have my own businesses, have comfrol of my own schedule.
The main goal was to live in the USA. It wasn’t easy as a EU citizen but I never gave up. It had so many upsets, but never gave up.
After leaving the medical section, I went into the financial section, modeling… Then representing European musicians, production companies and actors in the US, trying to somehow find a way to get a visa.
Finally I established a international management company and production company in Europe and Los Angeles, invested money to get my E Visa, found an investor and business partner in 2021. It was still during COVID times so it wasn’t easy, but I believe that there is always a way if you try hard enough.
After 3 years of growing my companies GAT Studios ( production, video, photo services ) and 5 years of my international talent management company GAT management , I feel more stable and confident. Still have a long way to go and more business ideas.
I also got married and finally got my Green Card, after 13 years of trying to find a way in May, 2025.
My plan is to keep expanding GAT , looking at another business opportunities, also fulfilling my travel destinations with my husband John.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I think the story that would answer this question the most is when I had to go back from the US to Czech Republic and Covid happened.
At that time, I was already setting grounds for my production and management business but my visa time period was ending. I thought I will get back in a couple of months and continue….. But then Covid, closing of borders. After waiting about 7 months where there was no sight of being able to travel back to the US, I decided to proceed with the investor visa. With this visa, you need to open a company in the US, get a EIN ( which took almost 3 months and you didn’t know if they even got the paperwork, well IRS …. ) , then open up a bank account ( which by some miracle my friend Tavis ran all over the place and opened it on his name for me – which is trust ), then transfer the investment visa money, spend the money… Just beware that Prague is 9 hours ahead of LA time…
After that you can schedule an appointment at the US embassy and they can say yes or no. Not a comfortable situation after you spend all your money … :/
I passed the interview, bought a ticket to LA 3 days later and started working on my business.
Now, when I look back I have no idea how I did it. Being awake all night to take care of things in the US… It took 1 year and 5 months. I just know that if you have a goal, work hard, it will happen.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I think mostly recommendation by people by providing good service, dependable service and also understanding what people need.
