Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lamar Banks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lamar, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about your team building process? How did you recruit and train your team and knowing what you know now would you have done anything differently?
The Story of LaFamilia Tour
LaFamilia didn’t start as a brand. It started as a vibe.
Back in high school, I was the new kid—nobody knew who I was, but that didn’t last long. My friends and I decided to throw a pool party, and honestly, we had no idea what was about to happen. It was lit. One of those nights that feels unreal. The type of party people talk about for weeks.
That moment put the name Lamar Banks on the map. People started recognizing me, and momentum started building. I met a few friends who shared the same energy and ambition, and together, we kept throwing parties—not just for fun, but to generate money and build something bigger.
That “something” became LaFamilia.
But like life always shows you, friends come and go. The ones who stayed—the ones who showed loyalty—became family. And those were the people who stood beside me as I figured out what LaFamilia would grow into.
A few months later, I took a 17-hour flight to Barcelona, Spain. Being far from home made everything clearer. The views, the culture, the motion of the city—it inspired me. I realized LaFamilia wasn’t just a name. It was a movement. So I rebranded to LaFamilia Tour.
“Tour” meant motion. Expansion. Growth. Moving forward—whether alone or with the people you call family. Because I always say:
Blood makes you related. Loyalty makes you family.
While I was in Barcelona, I sent King Combs and Bayswag some samples I had been working on—pieces I believed in. We had connected months earlier at a mansion party in LA and built a friendship from there. I knew once I left the country, I wouldn’t be able to get merch to them, so I sent everything before taking off.
Two weeks later, while I was still overseas, they wore the pieces during the NBA All-Star game.
And that moment changed everything.
Sales exploded—$15,000 a day—and LaFamilia Tour officially became more than a dream. It became a movement with real traction, real support, and real family behind it.
And that’s how it all began.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
About Me & My Brand
My name is Lamar Banks, and I’m the founder and creative mind behind LaFamilia Tour, a lifestyle brand built on movement, loyalty, and real community. My journey into this industry wasn’t planned—it grew naturally from the energy, relationships, and moments that shaped me.
I got my start at a time when I was the “new kid” in school, trying to find my place. Instead of waiting to be accepted, I created my own lane. I threw a pool party with some friends, and it ended up being one of those unforgettable nights that people talked about everywhere. That moment introduced the name “Lamar Banks” to my city. It gave me momentum and showed me that I had a gift for bringing people together—and turning a vision into something real.
From there, I kept building. A few friends and I started throwing more events, using the money to launch the first version of my brand, LaFamilia. Over time, I learned a lot about partnership, loyalty, and leadership. Friends came and went, but the ones who stayed—the ones who believed in the vision—became family. That became the core of what my brand stands for.
A major turning point happened during a trip to Barcelona, Spain. Being in a new environment surrounded by culture, art, and motion inspired me to evolve the brand into LaFamilia Tour. “Tour” represents movement—expansion—growth. Whether you move alone or with the people you call family, what matters is that you stay in motion. I always say, “Blood makes you related, loyalty makes you family.” And that philosophy guides everything I create.
What I Create & What I Offer
At its core, LaFamilia Tour is a lifestyle brand. We create:
Premium streetwear and statement pieces
Limited-edition drops with meaning behind each design
Cultural and community-driven experiences
A sense of identity for people who value loyalty and movement
My work solves a different type of “problem.” It’s not about fixing something—it’s about giving people something to belong to. A mindset. A message. A brand where people feel seen, valued, and connected. People aren’t just buying clothes; they’re buying a story, a lifestyle, and a philosophy they relate to.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is authenticity. Everything I create comes from real experiences, real relationships, and real moments. I don’t chase trends—I create from my life, the culture around me, and the vision I have for where we’re going. Also, I built this from nothing—no investors, no shortcuts, no handouts. Just hustle, creativity, and loyalty.
The brand is not just about looking good—it’s about moving with purpose. “Tour” is about motion, leveling up, and expanding your world. Every piece, every drop, every moment reflects that energy.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m most proud of staying true to my vision even when it wasn’t popular or easy. I’m proud of the people who stayed loyal during the early days. I’m proud that my brand reached global eyes—from Barcelona to LA to the All-Star stage—because of hard work and organic support. And I’m proud that people feel connected to the message behind LaFamilia Tour.
What I Want People to Know
LaFamilia Tour is more than fashion—it’s a movement built on loyalty, motion, and real connection. I want people to know that everything I do comes from intention. I want them to know that if you rock with this brand, you’re part of something bigger. And most importantly, I want them to know that my story is still being written. This is just the beginning.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
One of the moments that really shaped me as an entrepreneur was a meeting I had with Daymond John. We sat down and talked for hours—real conversation, real game, no shortcuts. He broke down what it truly means to be an entrepreneur: discipline, creativity, resilience, and learning how to maximize what you have instead of waiting for what you don’t.
At the end of our meeting, he handed me a copy of his book, “The Power of Broke.” And I’ll be honest—that book changed my perspective. It teaches you how being hungry, being resourceful, and starting from nothing can actually be your biggest advantage. It’s a book I recommend to anybody trying to build something from the ground up.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Even though LaFamilia Tour is built on creativity, family, and connecting with like-minded individuals, I had to unlearn a lot of things I once believed were part of who I was. Growth forces you to look at yourself differently. It forces you to let go of habits, mindsets, and even people who no longer align with where you’re going.
Someone once asked me,
“Lamar, what’s more important—the journey, the end mission, or the in-between that shapes your business?”
And my answer surprised them. I told them it was none of the above.
What matters most is the company you keep.
You can love people deeply, but that doesn’t mean they’re meant to go where you’re going. Sometimes you have to walk alone—not out of ego, but out of protection. Because one wrong person in your circle can make you look bad, slow you down, or distract you from the bigger picture.
So I learned to handle my business first. Stay focused. Move with intention.
And most importantly—
Watch the company you keep.
Not everyone deserves a front-row seat to your journey.
