We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brian Lane a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
This past spring I separated from my employer and for the first time I realized I was not the one who decided whether or not if I should be entitled to an income. This feeling fueled something new within me to try to spin up a start up using my software engineer background. I discussed with friends, and almost got one successfully running but lacked infrastructure compared to the others in the space. This got me thinking if I can’t find a new job or start my own business then I may need to simply just start making websites for businesses. Then viola! I could create software that would do exactly this. Everything works out of the box and is made for small businesses that don’t want to pay the higher fees from the big players already existing in the website builder space. My company offers a way for businesses to manage bookings, accept payments, and have your own website domain—free.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I build things for the web. Every since I decided I wanted to start code, I wanted to create technological solutions to help people. This started small with developing my first iphone app and placing it in the iOS App Store back in 2015, then making websites, web videogames, and much more. In industry I have focused on the financial space allowing me to understand the importance of security, scale, and design architecture.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best new clients are friends you trust that want your business to grow. This creates a foundation of a great reputation and lays the groundwork for future customers and clients.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I always maintain a sense of urgency and care to the needs to all my clients respectively. It’s really important allow them to feel heard and to promote communication between business. Personally, I will check in after 2 weeks to verify everything is running smoothly. Clients have provided feedback directly to me exclaiming that my attention to detail and patience in support care has allowed them to want to be loyal to my brand and brag to others about my services.
