We were lucky to catch up with Pedro Torres recently and have shared our conversation below.
Pedro, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on has definitely been photographing Ryan Castro during Paris Fashion Week for Harper’s Bazaar. It was one of those moments where everything I’ve worked for suddenly felt real. I couldn’t believe I was in Paris for work taking pictures for one of my favorite artists. I want to give a huge thank-you to Burgerrock Media for trusting my work and giving me the opportunity to be part of something so big on an international stage.
What made it meaningful wasn’t just the scale of it, it was the story behind it. I come from shooting concerts, portraits, and creative projects, slowly building my style and confidence. To find myself in Paris, camera in hand, capturing a global Latino artist during one of the biggest fashion moments in the world… that hit different. It was proof that hard work, consistency, and the right people believing in you can open doors you once only dreamed about. That project didn’t just elevate my career, it reshaped the way I see what’s possible for me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a photographer based in San Diego, and my work lives at the intersection of music, fashion, and storytelling. I got into photography almost accidentally. It started as a hobby, a way to escape stress and express myself creatively. Over time, it became the one thing that made me feel the most present, the most “me.” Little by little, shooting concerts, portraits, and creative concepts turned into something bigger, and eventually into a career.
Today, I focus on concert photography, artist portraits, fashion/editorial work, product branding, and creative direction. Whether I’m documenting a live show or crafting a stylized shoot, my goal is always the same: to capture energy, emotion, and authenticity in a way that feels alive. I want people to look at my images and feel like they’re inside the moment with me.
What sets me apart is my perspective. I grew up around music and culture that shaped my eye. I pay attention to the little things: the movement, the colors, the emotion on someone’s face right before they step on stage. I think clients come to me because I don’t just take photos; I help create moments. I bring ideas, direction, and a calm energy that makes people feel comfortable in front of the camera, even if it’s their first time.
I’m most proud of the growth! Going from local concerts to international opportunities like photographing Ryan Castro in Paris Fashion Week for Harper’s Bazaar. Moments like that remind me how far passion, consistency, and community can take you. I’m also proud of how connected my work has become to my culture. Capturing Latino artists and creatives on big stages means a lot to me, and I hope it inspires others who come from similar backgrounds.
What I want potential clients and followers to know is simple: I care deeply about every project. Whether it’s a brand shoot, a wedding, an artist portrait, or a big editorial moment, I put my full effort into making sure the final result feels intentional and powerful. My work is built on trust, creativity, and genuine collaboration. If we work together, you’re not just getting photos, you’re getting someone who wants to bring your vision to life in the most meaningful, memorable way possible.
Huge shoutout to my team at Vision Music Agency and my team at Burgerrock Media. Thank you for giving me these opportunities and continuing to trust in my work and my vision.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is the impact my work can have on people. There’s something powerful about freezing a moment and knowing it will live far beyond the instant it was created. When a client tells me that a photo captured exactly how they felt, or when an artist says the images helped elevate their vision, that’s the part that really hits.
As creatives, we spend so much time chasing ideas, experimenting, failing, trying again… and then suddenly there’s a moment where everything aligns and you realize, “This is why I do this.” That feeling is unmatched.
I also love the connection. Photography has introduced me to people, places, and experiences I never imagined. It’s opened doors, built friendships, and allowed me to contribute to someone else’s story in a meaningful way. Being able to create something that resonates, inspires, or represents someone authentically. I think that’s the most rewarding part for me.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think my reputation has been built on consistency, trust, and genuinely caring about the work. From the beginning, I made it a priority to always show up prepared, deliver on time, and give every project the same level of attention. People notice that. A lot of my opportunities have come from word of mouth, and that only happens when clients feel taken care of and confident in what you bring.
Another big part is that I’ve stayed true to my style. I’m always pushing myself creatively, but I don’t chase trends. I focus on storytelling, emotion, and strong visuals that feel like me. Over time, clients started to recognize my look and trust my eye, and that’s helped me stand out in a crowded space.
But honestly, the relationships have been everything. I treat every client, artist, and collaborator with respect. I listen, I communicate, and I try to make the process fun and easy. People come back not just for the photos, but for the experience. I think that combination (reliability, authenticity, creativity, and good energy) is what shaped my reputation and helped me grow in this industry. You always have to stay humble and true to your roots.
