We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ghetto Guitar. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ghetto below.
Ghetto , appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Ive been playing guitar now for about 16 years, a good friend of mine introduced the guitar to me along with some classic and at the time current rock hits. He taught me how to play Ozzy Osbourne, Crazy Train and Iron Man by black sabbath. When I got my own guitar i watched a beginner DVD that taught me some chords but power chords stuck with me over time. I remember using guitar tabs to help me learn song that I liked and then playing by ear and adding guitar to songs that never had a guitar in it. I never took lessons and I believe that couldve helped speed the process but at the same time i now have a very unique sound because i dont rely so much on theory but more off of feeling and soul.
I think practicing songs that dont have any guitar in it and adding something new is a great skill because it develops or your creativity and flexibility.
Id say just having to juggle life in general, work, bills, at the time school that take up time but in the end its on you to put in the overtime,

Ghetto , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Ghetto Guitar, Im from New Haven, CT, Im a platinum musician (guitarist), producer and songwriter known most notably for my works with Gunna, lil baby, young thug, wiz khalifa, and more. Ive gone on national and international tour with Gunna. Ive performed on all 3 late night tv shows including Late Night With Jimmy Kimmel. Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Fallon accompanying platinum selling artists such as Latto and Morray.
I started creating guitar remixes on youtube, adding guitars to rap songs or rnb that dont have any guitar. One of my guitar remixes “Chief Keef – I Dont Like (GUITAR REMIX/COVER)” went viral and caught the eyes of the artist and platinum producer Young Chop. I began sending guitar riffs and loops to the producer and landed my first placement with platinum artist Wiz Khalifa. From there I performed and networked until I had the opportunity to send a Platinum proucer for Gunna named Turbo some of my guitar loops. After the success of a song called “Sold Out Dates” by Gunna and Lil Baby he offered me a producer deal and I was officially a signed producer.
My Guitar loops make it easy for artist to create as well as being unique to where its a sound youve never heard before allowing listeners and full on new experience.
Im most proud of “Sold Out Dates” its a song I produced for an artist that i enjoyed listening to prior to thinking id make music for him and the song going platinum. Its truly. a blessing.
I want future clients to know they can always trust me with developing their sound and taking it to a new level.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My main tool for building my audience was and still is youtube. I was very consistent with releasing videos of me playing guitar and doing guitar remixes where I started to build an audience of now 3000+ subscribers. Im in the process of getting into streaming so things will be getting updated. I like to have conversations with my audience, I like when they can interact with me and we can discuss all types of topics not just music. It gives them insight more of who I am as a person and allows me to build a connection with them.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I think one of the most rewarding aspects of being an artist is performing in front of a crowd and feeding off their energy as they feed off yours. People youve never met rocking out to your music, moshing, thats a feeling that ill always enjoy
