Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chris Evans. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chris, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
As a former college athlete I did not get to participate in the tailgate activities the go along with the college experience. So when I relocated back to Lubbock and was close to my alma mater I decided to start up a tailgate that would be open to all my friends and the families for the current student athletes

Chris, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Mine just comes from a passion for my university and the fun an fellowship that tailgating brings to everyone on a fee Saturdays each fall.
We have started from a small group to now hosting 50 to 100 people each game day that enjoy good food and friendship and making new friends
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When starting this adventure was not sure what to expect and had to learn on the fly. Do I have enough food and drink for everyone or enough chairs and thing like that were always a concern each week.
As we have grown I have learned how to plan and and schedule things better and also adding more resources to so that everyone has a great experience

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Funding was a bit of a challenge to start because this was not a traditional business that you can ask your bank for a loan for. So being a customer of a small local bank I was able to work out a small loan to help purchase trailer and other items with the trade out being that the bank could bring customers to the tailgate as use it as a way to promote the bank and also being able to see that the money was being used for the sole purpose of the tailgate
