We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nicola a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nicola thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
For a large part of my life, up until my early 30s, I would jump from one unfulfilling relationship to the next. I gravitated towards partners who didn’t value me or treat me in ways that felt supportive. I was too afraid of upsetting the ‘harmony’, and so I shied away from conflict and shoved down any darker emotions and frustrations I carried.
I remember being in San Francisco for my one-year anniversary with my partner at the time. We were in our hotel getting ready to go to dinner, and something drew me to his phone. Not something I had ever done before with a partner, but it felt like I was being guided there by my higher self, which seemed to know something that my human self was avoiding. Upon opening his phone, I had come across a slew of text messages to another woman. He was cheating on me for the entire length of our relationship.
“What does this say about me that I end up in a situation like this?……what red flags did I ignore and why?” I thought to myself, desperate to make sense of it all. This relationship was the catalyst that sparked a 5-year self-development journey. I finally took a deep look at myself and my relationship patterns that got me there. I began to explore why and how I minimized my needs and boundaries in relationship, and why I was so afraid to initiate conflict or express myself. I saw the mirror of these same patterns playing out in work where I would overextend myself, where I viewed asking for help as a weakness, or where I feared communicating my needs in times of conflict.
From that moment on, I committed to strengthening my sense of self, rebuilding my values from the ground up, and putting in place practices to build greater self-trust and confidence. I also worked to strengthen my communication (verbal, nonverbal, and energetic) to ensure greater alignment and authenticity when communicating with others. This inner work tremendously improved my outer relationships across romance, work, and life.
By strengethening my relationship with myself, I was able to cultivate better relationships with others and a greater sense of personal fulfillment. And this soon became the foundation for my work as a relationship coach, guiding individuals and couples into deeper connection, expression, and fulfillment in love and life.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a relationship coach, speaker, and the host of the Divine Union Podcast. I got into this work, born from my own experiences in relationships and my journey of evolution. I always wanted deep intimacy and was never able to cultivate it. I always thought it was my partners who were the problem: they couldn’t open up, they didn’t know how to be vulnerable, they lacked the depth I had, they were non-committal; the list of excuses could go on and on. It wasn’t until I finally addressed all the ways that I was blocking intimacy myself, and I took myself through a process that is now called The Union Method™, the core of the work I do with my clients.
I bring a decade of experience in communication, human behavior, tantra, and somatics, and this work bridges the gap between self-mastery and thriving relationships, guiding couples and individuals into deeper connection, expression, and fulfillment in love, leadership, and life. I believe relationships aren’t compartmentalized, and how you show up in one area of life often mirrors how you show up in other areas. So having tools to improve your relationship applies not just in romance, but in career, and in all areas of life.
My signature framework, The Union Method™, is rooted in four core disciplines: communication, polarity energetics, sovereignty, and balance principles to help you:
-Turn conflict into opportunities for deeper understanding and shared connection.
-Communicate with greater alignment and authenticity.
-Create environments that support mutual growth, safety, intimacy, and a shared vision for the future.
-Bring more passion and play into relational dynamics.
Nothing brings me more joy than witnessing the growth of my clients. Among them, women who feel a greater sense of safety and ease within, men who feel more confident in their authentic expression, and couples who experience more connection, passion, and joy. We are all in many forms of relationships in our lives, and to me, there is no better area to invest time and energy into strengthening.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I feel the most valuable asset for growing my brand has been the embodiment of my work. I make it a daily practice to implement the tools I teach in times of challenge. We are all a representation of our brands, and so acting in alignment with the values and principles we speak to is essential for success.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Go-Givers Sell More by Bob Burg and John David Mann is a favorite book of mine. It’s all about being a genuine giver in life and not trying to ‘get’ anything in return. This book serves as a great reminder of the power of human connection and building relationships in their own right.
I love getting to know people. And naturally, as people open up about their lives and relationships, I do what I do best: I listen. Then, if the moment calls for it, I share my perspective. I’ve found that often, just from being in conversation with others where there is resonance, people naturally take more interest in my work. This is the power of being a natural giver in life, without trying to take anything from others. And when we do this, naturally, magic starts to unfold everywhere we go.
