We recently connected with Courtney Stratton and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
My journey into photography is deeply personal, shaped by both life’s challenges and unexpected blessings.
I’m Courtney, and I’ve always been open about my neurodivergence: I have Autism, which helps me stay highly organized and detail-oriented, and ADHD, which fuels my creativity and brings energy to every session. I’ve learned to embrace my brain as a strength, turning what some might call “different” into a true advantage in my work.
Photography became my lifeline after experiencing a traumatic event that affected my memory. I started documenting joyful moments—whether it was my children, the wildflowers along a trail, or tiny creatures I stumbled upon in nature. Capturing life through the lens helped me hold onto the beauty and fleeting moments that might otherwise slip away. What began as a personal form of healing soon became a side job to help make ends meet as a single mom, photographing friends and family.
Over time, photography evolved into something much bigger. I found stability, a supportive partner, and the freedom to pour myself fully into my passion: capturing connection, love, and confidence in a way that resonates for years to come.
In July 2025, after leaving a job due to moral and ethical beliefs, I faced the question of what to do next.
I briefly considered real estate but knew it wouldn’t provide the consistent creative fulfillment I needed.
That led me back to photography—a field where I could combine my organization, creativity, and love for storytelling, all while working on my own terms.
From the very first session, I felt I was exactly where I was meant to be.
Within weeks, I was booked out, collaborating on events and sessions that fueled both my heart and my business. Today, Lane 251 Photography isn’t just a business—it’s a space where I honor life’s fleeting moments, empower my clients, and create tangible art that lasts for generations.
I am deeply grateful to my children, who’ve been my models and inspiration, to my partner who works tirelessly behind the scenes, and to every client and follower who has supported this dream. This path feels intentional, guided, and truly a blessing, and I know that every frame I capture is part of a larger story—one that I am honored to help tell.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As the artist and storyteller behind Lane 251 Photography, I create premium, timeless portraits that celebrate connection, confidence, and legacy. My work isn’t just about capturing a moment—it’s about curating an experience that reflects your story and preserves it in tangible, heirloom-quality art.
What sets Lane 251 Photography apart is the focus on personalization and intention. Every session is designed to honor your vision, your “why,” and the moments that matter most. I guide clients through a seamless, luxurious experience, resulting in portraits that are not only beautiful but deeply meaningful—images that live on walls, in memory books, and in keepsake boxes for generations.
My approach blends creativity, energy, and meticulous attention to detail—a balance that allows me to craft unique, authentic imagery for every client. I’m proud to provide more than just photos; I offer an opportunity to slow down, connect, and celebrate life’s fleeting moments in a way that truly lasts.
At Lane 251 Photography, I believe that your story deserves to be seen, felt, and treasured, not stored digitally and forgotten. Every image is art, and every client experience is designed to feel as personal, intentional, and luxurious as the story it preserves.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Lane 251 Photography is built on connection and relationships, and that philosophy carries through to everything I do online. When I say my social media presence is intentional, I mean it to my core. Rather than chasing likes or followers, I focus on authentic connection: personal invites to my page, genuine conversations, check-ins, and real friendships.
I engage with people because I care—not because it’s a marketing tactic. Over time, this approach has created an audience that genuinely supports me, my business, and my work. My followers aren’t just numbers; they’re a community of people who value the same authenticity, artistry, and intentionality that I pour into every session.
My advice for anyone starting to build a social media presence is simple: lead with empathy, be real, and show up consistently. Focus on cultivating relationships, not just engagement metrics. Social media works best when it mirrors the same care, thoughtfulness, and respect you bring to your craft. People notice, appreciate, and naturally gravitate toward that authenticity.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
For me, connection is everything. While social media is a tool, nothing replaces real conversation and face-to-face interaction. I prioritize in-person meetings whenever possible, and when that’s not an option, I turn to email or Zoom—because real words carry more meaning than a comment or “like.”
I make a point to check in with clients personally, celebrate milestones, and maintain ongoing conversations. Being present in the community is also essential: I attend local events, vendor fairs, and gatherings so I can meet people one-on-one, build genuine relationships, and create trust that lasts beyond a single session.
Brand loyalty isn’t just about transactions—it’s about showing care, being present, and creating meaningful experiences. When clients know they’re seen, heard, and valued, they naturally return and share their experiences with others. For me, loyalty grows out of authenticity, presence, and a commitment to treating every client like a person, not just a customer.
