We were lucky to catch up with Yilin Li recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Yilin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents have always respected and supported me in doing what I like and exploring my own world. This is the beginning and start of my career. I think I’m very lucky to have such parents

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m an illustrator and artist. My works are mainly created against the backdrop of Asian culture. As an Asian girl, I really enjoy drawing about Asian culture, such as the culture of Asian ghosts and spirits, religious culture, and so on. These subjects fascinate me. Translating these abstract words into concrete images gives me a great sense of achievement, and my followers also love my visual expressions very much.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I believe the most valuable aspect of my work is that it can blend Eastern and Western cultures, allowing people all over the world to witness the vitality and beauty in art. Additionally, it provides emotional value to those who appreciate my creations.

Have you ever had to pivot?
The year I came into contact with religion and philosophy, my thoughts changed accordingly. I began to delve deeply into myself, and my consciousness and emotions changed accordingly. This has also had a significant impact on the content and approach of my artistic expression. My works have begun to explore deeper issues of the universe and the inner world of human beings, which makes my works more touching and interesting.
