Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrea McClew. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Andrea, thanks for joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I made the leap from a regular job to chase my dreams because I craved the independence of being my own boss. Let me tell you, it’s a tough world out there! Long hours, not enough pay, and some not-so-great managers made me realize I deserved better. But is owning your own business a walk in the park? Absolutely not! I often find myself working double hours and weekends, juggling marketing efforts while trying to keep my current clients happy and bring in new ones—it’s like a never-ending rollercoaster!
Still, I wouldn’t trade this life for anything else.Success, whether you’re clocking in at a traditional job or diving into the entertainment and beauty industries, doesn’t come easy. It’s all about that hustle! No matter how tired or stressed I get, it all boils down to one question: how badly do you want it? And let me tell you, I wanted it pretty badly!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m proud to say that I’m a military spouse of 21 years, lipstick lover, TV host, and firm believer that a little faith, hustle, and good lip gloss can take you anywhere!
So like so many people, my world was turned upside down during COVID when I lost my job. But instead of giving up, I decided to bet on myself — and that leap of faith led me to start two amazing ventures that have completely changed my life. First came Luv Her Lips, my lipstick line created to make everyone feel bold, confident, and unstoppable. What started at my kitchen table has now been featured in multiple publications, worn by models on major runways, and even sponsored beauty pageants! We’ve got something special cooking too — our eyeshadow line launches next summer, and I can’t wait!! I’m currently the reigning Mrs Universe Alms 2025. Beauty pageants really helped with creating a lip line because I always struggled with finding the right shades which led me to do my own. lol.
Then there’s FriYays with Andrea — what began as a fun YouTube show has now grown into a full-on TV show you can watch on Niche TV Live (available on Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon Fire, or DirecTV). It’s all about celebrating good vibes, laughter, and the power of positivity every Friday — because we all deserve to end the week with a smile! What sets me apart? I don’t just sell beauty — I share a message of resilience, joy, and self-love. I know what it’s like to start over and rebuild, and I want everyone who connects with my brand to feel that same spark of “I can do this too.” What I’m most proud of is simple: that I turned loss into opportunity, dreams into action, and passion into purpose.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
In 2019 I had only 700 followers on social media. That has now grown to 25,000 followers across all platforms. I built up my social media the organic way. No bots, not paying lol. In 2020, that’s really when it took off. I was consistent in posting, and just sharing my life and I guess people followed. lol. I also was in the process of filming a movie called LAX2PARIS which did very well on streaming services and so much so, I’ll be headed to New York next month to film the 3rd and final movie in the series. People were able to watch my acting journey in real time and it really helped me gain followers as well.
So, to see how far my social media has come is amazing. Its like your job resume. People see my work and the next thing I know, I have producers reaching out for films, companies asking for me to be their brand ambassador, and I have received just multiple hosting jobs as well. My advice to people with social media is really find your special skill and really share that with others. Be consistent in posting your work online. The right audience will find you and if people really want to work with you, they will definitely let you know. Social media helped my business grow and its been done in a positive way, it can help anyone.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Before all the followers and my career take off, there were many times I wanted to quit and give up. People told me I was crazy, and wouldn’t offer any help. After a while, you start to believe them. But I never gave up. I kept working hard, breaking down doors, and before I knew it, the right people came along, and my vision became a reality. I may fail at things sometimes but I just don’t know how to quit. I work until I get what i want. I would never be able live with the fact that I gave up. That thought is what keeps me going. I am no where near as successful as I want to be, but I work everyday to get there.
