We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lizette a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lizette, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Looking back on your career, have you ever worked with a great leader or boss? We’d love to hear about the experience and what you think made them such a great leader.
I first met Heidi in 2021, long before I could have imagined the impact she would have on my life. At the time, my mom and I were exploring aesthetic treatments, and Heidi was working out of a salon suite. My mom and I had both booked lip injections with her, and from the moment I walked in, I could tell she wasn’t just a skilled injector, but she radiated warmth, authenticity, and a kind of grounded confidence that immediately put me at ease. My first impression was that she was not only exceptional at her craft, but also an exceptional person.
Later that same year, I was navigating the stress of returning to school and trying to find a job that aligned with my goals. My mom reminded me that Heidi had mentioned opening her own spa, and encouraged me to reach out for a position. By then, Alchemy Med Spa had already opened its doors to her own spa, and I sent Heidi a message hoping for an interview. What struck me was how refreshingly organic the entire process was. No automated systems, no impersonal portals asking for credentials before conversation. Heidi gave me space to show her who I was before she ever asked for a résumé.
When she offered me the receptionist position, she did so with full understanding of my school schedule and my long-term goal of becoming a nurse. That level of support, trust, and flexibility was rare, especially for someone like me at the very beginning of their career. Working under Heidi has never felt like clocking into a job, it has felt like stepping into a place where beauty, purpose, and compassion are intertwined. Heidi’s philosophy toward aesthetics is something I deeply admire. She injects with intention, tenderness, and a belief in enhancing one’s natural beauty instead of masking it. She understands that for many people, insecurities can overshadow how they see themselves. Her work is not vanity-driven, it is restorative. It is about helping people reconnect with their confidence, their joy, and the parts of themselves they forgot were there. Over time, I’ve learned more about the woman behind the injector. Heidi is a devoted mother, a dedicated pet mom, and someone with a heart so expansive it feels impossible not to be inspired by her. I feel that her success hasn’t been built on status or superficial measures, it has come from compassion, integrity, and genuine care for her community. Working beside someone like that has shaped my own ambition in ways I’ll be forever grateful for. She has challenged me, mentored me, and welcomed me into her world as if I were family.
One of the clearest reflections of her character happened in 2024. I found a stray dog on my street — frail, untagged, and in need of help. The first person I called was Heidi and she immediately stepped in. Together, we brought him to the vet to check for a microchip, and she generously covered additional testing and vaccines to get a full picture of his health. We later learned he was elderly and fragile, and rehoming might not be realistic. So I adopted him myself and named him Dobby.
Dobby became part of my family, he went on beach trips with us, had playdates with Heidi’s dogs, and lived the sweetest final chapter any dog could hope for.
This past September of 2025, Dobby’s health declined suddenly, and I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let his cross the rainbow bridge. It was one of the most painful moments of my life. Through it all, Heidi showed up with a level of empathy that still amazes me. She supported me emotionally, honored Dobby’s life, and helped me feel held through a loss that truly broke me, and that I am still learning to live with. She gifted me a shadow box for his collar, a digital frame with his photos, and even came to his viewing — all while managing a full day of clients shortly after. She understood that the grief wasn’t mine alone; my dog Louie was grieving too, and she even welcomed him into the office sometimes at the front desk with me so he wouldn’t be alone.
To me, moments like that reveal who a person truly is. Throughout the years, Heidi has inspired me with her ambition and grit in the aesthetic world, but her impact goes far beyond professional success. Her compassion, intuition, and generosity have shaped my work ethic, my confidence, and the way I want to move through the world. She has taught me that success rooted in purpose and heart is the kind that lasts.
I aspire to mirror the way Heidi has lived her values, not just in skill or career, but in the way she pours into people, fosters community, and creates spaces where others feel valued and seen in the work space and overall. I am endlessly grateful for the opportunities she’s given me, for the family-like support she’s shown, and for the example she continues to set.
Thank you, Heidi, for believing in me, for loving my dogs like your own, and for showing me what leadership with heart truly looks like.

Lizette, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
At Alchemy, we provide a comprehensive range of aesthetic treatments tailored to meet each client’s unique goals. Our services span from hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to luxury facials, radiofrequency-based skin resurfacing, advanced laser hair removal, Kybella, PDO threads, Botox, and much more. Every treatment is designed with an emphasis on safety, customization, and enhancement.
I like to encourage all new clients to begin with a 15–20 minute consultation, either in person or virtually for those out of town. This allows Heidi to build a genuine connection, understand their goals, and recommend a personalized treatment plan. That attention to detail and her ability to truly listen is what sets her apart. Heidi is widely known as Houston’s Lip Queen, celebrated for her signature lip technique and the culture of artistry she’s created around her craft. Her precise, natural, and client-centered approach has earned her a loyal base of new and returning clients. She has also been featured in Forbes and recognized on many articles and platforms acknowledging her knowledge and amazing techniques int he aesthetic world.
We also offer InMode diode laser hair removal, an advanced technology that targets the hair follicle with greater precision and effectiveness than traditional lasers, often resulting in a more comfortable and efficient experience.
For skin resurfacing, Alchemy provides a few tratments but our two leading treatments are these :
Morpheus8 — an intensive radiofrequency microneedling procedure with customizable settings that can address fat reduction, skin tightening, contouring, collagen stimulation, scarring, and pigmentation concerns all in one session.
Thermolux — a more superficial, gentler microneedling option that still delivers visible skin refinement with more minimal downtime.
As I stated before we offer a range of injectables and corrective treatments all guided by Heidi’s core philosophy: build trust and prioritize lasting desired results that enhance.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Absolutely. As I have already stated, working along side Heidi hasn’t just expanded my knowledge with the opportunity of learning more b=about the field but I have also aspired to adapt her way of doing all that she does her with purpose and a genuineness for her clients concerns.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
I believe this field is a very competitive field to tap into whether you are training to inject or simply looking to get your foot in the door at the front desk. Most medical spas require plenty of experience and(or) confidence in product knowledge. I am grateful to have the opportunity and position I have here at Alchemy Med Spa as a medical assistant but my advice would be to keep up with treatments and procedures that are trending. That helps understand the shifts that sometimes happen int he aesthetic world. And, as long as your persistent and eager to learn in this field and move forward with a purpose for people you will do just fine.
