We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cielito a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Cielito, appreciate you joining us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?

Yes, I’ve been able to earn a full-time living from my creative work.
I’ve been working in different areas of music for many years now. That requires discipline, hard work and also constant learning.
From the first day I had clear goals and the attitude to make it possible.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Cielito Fernández, I’m from Paraguay and I was born into a music-filled family. I have a recording studio with my husband, the studio is Soul Studios in Atlanta, GA.
We work together in music production, of our own and for others artists as well.
Also, I do live music with my band, vocal coaching, creative production, press management for artists, digital music distribution, photography and audiovisual services. What sets me apart from others is the love and passion I always strive for in both my personal and professional environments.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

There were many challenges, for example, during the COVID pandemic in my country it was very difficult to fine work in music and arts. There were no events or gatherings allowed, so we had to find a way to continue to work in music via digital and remote meetings via the web. It was a process for the music industry to come back.
Going through a loss in the family or personal problems and being able to keep working and not stop the projects, is a strong demostration of resilience.
Sometimes it takes time, but it is possible.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

With no doubt, the most rewarding aspect is the support and pride of my family. Also, to touch people’s hearts with my music and connect with them in every song.
It’s really rewarding to work in what you love.
