We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rosa Herrera. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rosa below.
Rosa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Taking Risk – My Story
One of the biggest risks I ever took was choosing to bet on myself when life gave me every reason to quit. After losing my son, Jayden, I was in a place where nothing felt stable — emotionally, financially, or artistically. I could’ve stayed quiet, kept my head down, and lived safe. But something inside me knew that if I didn’t take a risk on my purpose, I’d lose myself completely.
So I made a decision:
I was going to turn my pain into power.
I started releasing music independently, building my brands from scratch, and stepping into rooms where nobody knew my name yet. I invested money I didn’t really have, showed up to events alone, reached out to people I admired, and said “yes” to opportunities even when I didn’t feel ready. Every step felt like walking into the unknown with faith as my only GPS.
The truth is, taking risks didn’t magically make everything easy — but it opened doors I never knew existed. Because of those risks, I became the first female rapper to perform at Alfaro’s in Miami, I charted as an independent artist, I built multiple businesses, and I created a foundation in my son’s honor. None of that would’ve happened if I stayed comfortable.
The risk was choosing myself.
Choosing my voice.
Choosing to believe that my story mattered.
And it paid off — not because everything went perfectly, but because every risk I took led me closer to the woman I was meant to be. I’m still taking risks every day, but now I walk into them with confidence, knowing that when you trust yourself, the universe moves with you.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
About Me – Rosababy
My name is Rosababy — a bilingual Dominicana, Latin artist, storyteller, entrepreneur, and the heart behind multiple creative and community-driven brands. I’m a woman who turned pain into purpose and built her own lane in the industry without waiting for permission.
I got into music at a young age, but I truly stepped into my artistry after losing my son, Jayden. Music became my way of healing, expressing, and transforming everything I was going through. That vulnerability and raw honesty is what pushed my career forward. Over time, I built a sound that blends Latin fusion, rap, soul, and bilingual storytelling, creating music that feels like emotion, empowerment, and real life.
Today, I’m an independent artist with chart-position records like “Euphoria,” “Dale Papi,” “Me Gusta,” and more — all released under my own label, Beyond Infinity Records. I perform across different states, collaborate with DJs, and use my platform to share messages of strength, identity, and rebirth.
Beyond music, I’m a business owner with multiple ventures:
This Means Nothing – a fashion brand reminding people that material things don’t define your worth.
Bella Chanel Extensions – a beauty brand inspired by my daughter.
Bear Hugs from Heaven Foundation – a nonprofit created in honor of my son to support grieving children and families through memory bears, healing events, and community outreach.
What sets me apart is that everything I create comes from a real place — every song, every project, every brand has meaning behind it. My work is rooted in authenticity, spirituality, Dominican culture, faith, and resilience. I’m not here to chase trends; I’m here to build legacy.
I help people by giving them something they can feel:
music that heals, a brand that empowers, and a foundation that brings hope.
I’ve become a voice for anyone who’s ever had to start over, anyone rebuilding their life while chasing their dreams. My followers and supporters know they will always get honesty, vulnerability, bilingual flavor, and passion from me.
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve done this independently — no label machine, no shortcuts. Just faith, discipline, and heart. I’m proud that my son’s memory lives through my work and that my daughter gets to see her mother becoming everything she dreamed of.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my brand, it’s this:
Everything I do is real. Everything I build is intentional. And everything I create comes from a place of love, strength, and purpose.
I’m here to represent women, mothers, immigrants, dreamers, and anyone who’s ready to break cycles and chase greatness on their own terms.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is knowing that my voice can touch someone else’s life at the exact moment they need it. I don’t just create music or content for entertainment — I create from real emotions, real experiences, and real healing. When someone messages me saying my song helped them, or they felt seen, or they found strength in my lyrics, that’s everything.
As a creative, I get to turn my story into something meaningful. I get to take pain, growth, love, culture, and spirituality and transform it into art that travels further than I ever could physically. There’s something powerful about knowing that something you made in a vulnerable moment becomes someone else’s comfort, motivation, or escape.
I also love the freedom of expression — being able to merge my Dominican roots, my bilingual flow, my motherhood, and my personal journey into one voice that’s uniquely mine. Creativity allows me to build worlds: through music, through fashion, through community work, and through storytelling.
But the biggest reward is legacy.
My art keeps my son’s memory alive.
It shows my daughter what strength looks like.
And it creates space for other women, other mothers, and other dreamers to believe in their own magic.
Being an artist isn’t just a career for me — it’s a purpose. And seeing that purpose inspire others is the part that fills me the most.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I believe society can support artists by truly valuing the work we do — not just the final product, but the time, discipline, and emotion that goes into creating it. Creativity isn’t a hobby; it’s a career, a service, and in many cases, a form of healing for entire communities. When people recognize that, everything changes.
One of the biggest things society can do is create more accessible opportunities:
– more grants for independent artists
– more community spaces for performances and workshops
– more platforms that uplift local talent, not just established names
– more programs in schools that encourage art, music, culture, and storytelling
We also need a culture that encourages collaboration instead of competition. When creatives come together — DJs, producers, designers, entrepreneurs, writers — everyone grows, the community strengthens, and the ecosystem becomes richer.
Another major piece is mental and emotional support. Artists pour so much of themselves into their work, and many are juggling grief, anxiety, financial stress, or personal struggles while still showing up for their craft. Having access to resources for mental health, mentorship, financial literacy, and business guidance can make a huge difference.
And lastly, society can support creatives by simply showing up:
sharing their work, attending shows, buying from small brands, reposting, streaming, voting, recommending them, and speaking their name in rooms they’re not in yet. That support doesn’t just help the artist — it helps build a culture where creativity is respected, celebrated, and allowed to flourish.
When society invests in its artists, it invests in its future. Creativity is how we heal, connect, inspire, and evolve. A thriving creative ecosystem starts with honoring that.
