Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittany Braswell, MS, RDN, LD. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Brittany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear a story from back when you were an intern or apprentice. What’s a memorable story you can share with us?
During my dietetic internship — 1,200 hours of supervised practice required before becoming a Registered Dietitian — I learned one of the most important lessons of my career.
It happened during a hospital rotation while rounding with one of my preceptors. I was reviewing a patient’s labs when I noticed something odd: her vitamin B12 levels were unusually high. Curious, I asked if she was taking any supplements or medications that might explain it. She wasn’t. That small question sent me down a path of digging deeper — reviewing her chart, cross-referencing lab values, and discovering that elevated B12 can sometimes be a marker for certain cancers.
Instead of alarming the patient, I brought my findings to the charge nurse. After further testing, it turned out that she did have cancer, and I had caught the signs early enough for this patient to be treated effectively.
That experience was powerful not just because of the clinical impact, but because of the mentorship behind it. My preceptor didn’t just tell me what to do; she empowered me to think critically, to trust my instincts, and to collaborate with confidence.
Now, years later, I find myself on the other side, mentoring interns in my own practice. And every time I watch a student’s curiosity spark into confidence, I’m reminded of that day in the hospital. Mentorship isn’t just about passing on knowledge; it’s about creating a ripple effect of courage, compassion, and competence that extends far beyond a single career.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Meet Brittany Braswell, MS, RDN, LD — Founder of The Intern Accelerator
If there’s one thing Brittany Braswell knows inside and out, it’s how to turn mentorship into momentum.
For more than a decade, Brittany has been mentoring dietetic interns and aspiring entrepreneurs—helping them bridge the gap between “learning” and leading. What started back in 2013 as a simple way to pour into future dietitians has since grown into something much bigger: a passion for helping other business owners experience the same kind of freedom, leadership growth, and scalability that transformed her own business.
After working with hundreds of students across hospital, outpatient, residential treatment, and private practice settings, Brittany saw firsthand how powerful an internship program could be—not just for the interns gaining valuable experience, but for the business owners who host them. “Mentorship changes both sides,” she explains. “It gives students the hands-on skills they need to thrive in the real world, and it gives business owners the systems, delegation strategies, and leadership experience they need to finally step into their CEO role.”
That realization sparked the creation of The Intern Accelerator, Brittany’s signature course that helps entrepreneurs build structured, high-impact internship programs inside their own businesses. The course walks business owners step-by-step through identifying the right tasks to delegate, designing clear intern roles, creating skills assessments and application systems, and launching an internship program that doesn’t just check a box—but truly fuels business growth.
What sets Brittany apart isn’t just her 12 years of experience or her background as a Registered Dietitian—it’s her ability to blend mentorship, leadership, and scalability into something simple, strategic, and deeply human. She’s living proof that you don’t need a big team or endless hours to make a big impact.
Today, Brittany leads a team of interns who help with everything from blogging and Pinterest strategy to admin operations and graphic design—freeing her up to focus on the visionary work that moves the needle most. “It’s the best kind of win-win,” she says. “My interns grow in confidence and skill, and my business grows in reach and impact.”
She’s most proud of the ripple effect: equipping other entrepreneurs to do the same. Through The Intern Accelerator, Brittany is helping small business owners step into leadership, simplify their operations, and scale sustainably—without hiring an expensive team.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Absolutely. Being a mentor and preceptor started out as something I did on the side while running my primary private practice, which serves women struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image issues. For years, I found myself mentoring interns simply because I loved it—often for free—pouring into the next generation of dietitians and entrepreneurs.
It began with college students completing their supervised practice hours, learning the clinical side of helping women heal their relationship with food. But as time went on, the doors opened wider. I started attracting not only students, but also women who had already graduated—some exploring entrepreneurship, others curious about eating disorder work, and many simply eager to learn how to build purpose-driven businesses of their own.
As their interests broadened, so did mine. I began mentoring in areas I’ve grown to love—marketing, podcasting, systems, operations, and leadership. Over time, it became clear this wasn’t just a side passion anymore; it was a scalable, sustainable piece of my business that gave me joy and expanded my impact.
Now, I constantly have interns on my team—helping with everything from blogging and design to operations and PR. What once started as a side endeavor has become a cornerstone of my business model. It’s one of the most fulfilling parts of what I do: mentoring women, building leadership capacity, and scaling my impact through others.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Hands down—my podcast.
Back in 2020, while part of a business coaching program, I attended a workshop on how to be a great podcast guest. That single workshop changed everything. I began guesting on podcasts across the country, sharing my story and teaching about food freedom and faith—and I loved it. I’m a teacher at heart, and podcasting felt like the perfect fit.
That experience inspired me to launch my own show, The Joy-Filled Eater Podcast (now Faith-Filled Food Freedom), in January 2023. Since then, around 80% of my one-to-one and group coaching clients have come either from listening to my podcast or from hearing me as a guest on someone else’s show.
For me, podcasting turned marketing into something that feels like ministry—it’s fun, relational, and full of purpose. It allows me to show up authentically, share value, and connect deeply with women who are ready to find freedom in their relationship with food and their body. And the best part is, I don’t have to rely on constant social media posting or traditional ads. I get to market in a way that truly lights me up.
