We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hadar Shalom. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hadar below.
Hadar, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
Honestly, I think I’m happier as an artist because it feels like the most real version of me. But there are definitely moments when I wonder what it would be like to just have a regular job, something more stable and predictable.
I remember one night after a really long rehearsal. My body was tired, everything hurt, and I started thinking about how much easier life might be if I had chosen a different path. For a moment, that idea sounded comforting. But then I thought about what I’d lose that sense of passion and purpose that comes from creating and performing.
That moment reminded me that even though this life can be uncertain, it gives me something I could never find anywhere else. It makes me feel truly alive.

Hadar, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Hadar, a dancer and choreographer from Israel, now living in Los Angeles. Dance has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and over time it became more than just movement it’s how I communicate, process emotions, and connect with people. It’s the way I tell stories and make sense of the world.
I started training seriously in Israel when I was 13, learning styles like contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, and heels. I performed in live shows, TV, and music videos before moving to the U.S., where I continue to perform, collaborate, and grow in the dance scene. Living in Los Angeles has given me the chance to work with talented choreographers, creative directors, and artists who inspire me every day.
For me, dance is about creating moments that feel real. I try to keep my work grounded and authentic, whether I’m performing on stage, filming a music video, or creating choreography.
I also love sharing what I’ve learned with other dancers and creators who are finding their way. This industry can be tough, so I try to offer honest insight, encouragement, and practical advice whenever I can.
I’m proud of staying true to my craft, even when it’s challenging, and of building a career that reflects who I am. Through my work, I hope to show that dance is about connection, purpose, and showing up as yourself, even when it’s not easy.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Honestly, I focus on smaller goals along the way, but at the end of the day, doing what I love is what matters most to me. Dance is my passion, and it’s what keeps me going through long rehearsals and tough days. It’s what makes me feel alive and like I’m doing something real.
If I get more specific, my dream has always been to dance for Beyoncé. It’s something I’ve wanted for years, and I know I’ll get there with hard work and dedication. Every class I take, every project I work on, every opportunity I go after is a step toward that dream.
For me, the journey itself is just as important as the goal growing as a dancer, learning from people I admire, and challenging myself. My main mission is to stay true to what I love, makes people feel something, keep creating, and enjoy the process while working toward my dreams.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building an audience on social media has been really important to me. For me, the key has been being consistent showing up regularly and sharing more than just the usual stories. People respond to authenticity, so I try to show my personality, share real moments, and be honest about my life and my journey.
It’s not about being perfect or always having something “big” to post. I like to give a glimpse into who I really am the process, the struggles, even the small everyday things. That’s what makes people feel connected, because they see the real me, not just a highlight reel.
My advice is simple: be consistent, be yourself, and share what matters to you. If you’re honest and real, the right people will find you and stick around.
