We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Murda Da Gal Dem a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Murda , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
We promote up-and-coming, business owners and entrepreneurs for free

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
SistasOnTheGo Podcast was created with one clear mission — to motivate, educate, and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs, dreamers, and go-getters. We saw a gap in the podcast space: plenty of shows were talking about success, but few were speaking to the everyday person who’s just starting out — juggling work, family, and ambition, while trying to figure it all out.
That’s where SistasOnTheGo came in.
We started as two friends having real, unfiltered conversations about life, business, and personal growth — the kind of discussions that happen on the go, between meetings, errands, or school drop-offs. Over time, those authentic talks turned into a full-fledged platform where listeners could find encouragement, relatable advice, and stories that remind them they’re not alone in their journey.
Through our podcast, we provide insight, motivation, and practical tools to help aspiring entrepreneurs turn ideas into action. We interview business owners, creatives, and change-makers who share both their wins and their struggles — because we believe success is built on transparency and community.
What sets us apart is our authentic voice and inclusive approach. We speak to men, women, and even youth — anyone with a dream — in a way that’s honest, empowering, and easy to connect with. Our audience isn’t just listening; they’re learning, growing, and finding the courage to take their next step.
We’re most proud of the community we’ve built — a space that feels like family, where encouragement meets education. Our brand stands for growth, authenticity, and action. Every episode, post, and partnership is rooted in our mission to uplift others and show that success isn’t limited by background, age, or circumstance — it’s about mindset, consistency, and faith.
At SistasOnTheGo, we want people to know that your journey matters. Whether you’re launching a business, rediscovering your purpose, or simply looking for inspiration to keep going — we’re here to walk that road with you, one conversation at a time.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson we had to unlearn was the idea that success has to look a certain way or happen on someone else’s timeline. Early on, we thought that building a brand, growing an audience, or starting a business meant following a strict blueprint — hitting milestones exactly like others had, chasing “overnight” success, or comparing ourselves to peers. That mindset only created pressure, doubt, and unnecessary stress.
The backstory is simple but powerful: in the early days of SistasOnTheGo, we would look at bigger brands or more established creators and wonder if we were doing enough, fast enough. We realized that this comparison mindset was limiting our creativity and authenticity. The breakthrough came when we shifted our focus to our own journey — showing up consistently every Tuesday from 9 to 11 on Facebook, Spotify, YouTube, and Instagram, sharing real stories, engaging with our community, and trusting that growth would come in its own time.
Unlearning this lesson taught us that authenticity, consistency, and patience matter far more than trying to meet someone else’s standard of success. Today, we celebrate our milestones, embrace the lessons along the way, and focus on building a brand that resonates deeply with our audience — not one that simply looks good on paper.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building our audience has been a journey of consistency, connection, and authenticity. From the start, we knew that showing up regularly and providing value was key — so we made a commitment to be consistent. Every Tuesday, from 9 to 11 AM, we go live on Facebook, Spotify, YouTube, and Instagram, giving our listeners and followers a dependable space to tune in for conversations, inspiration, and actionable insights. That consistency has helped our audience know when and where to find us, and it has fostered a sense of trust and community over time.
Beyond just showing up, we’ve focused on authentic engagement. We respond to comments, ask our audience questions, and encourage interaction so that people feel like they’re part of the conversation — not just passive listeners. Sharing personal stories, celebrating wins, and being transparent about challenges has also helped our community relate to us and stay engaged.
For those just starting to build their social media presence, our advice is simple but powerful:
1. Be consistent – Pick a schedule and stick to it. Your audience will come to expect your content, and that consistency builds credibility.
2. Engage authentically – Don’t just post; respond, interact, and create a sense of community. People want to feel seen and heard.
3. Provide value – Whether it’s entertainment, education, or inspiration, make sure every post or episode leaves your audience with something meaningful.
4. Be patient and persistent – Growth doesn’t happen overnight. Stay true to your brand, keep showing up, and celebrate small milestones along the way.
Through these steps, SistasOnTheGo has grown from a small circle of listeners into a thriving community of entrepreneurs, dreamers, and go-getters — all tuning in, engaging, and taking action to live their best lives.
